NHL Draft Lottery
So Crosby is most definitly going to Pittsburg. I mean this is a horrible day in the NHL. Crosby going to one of the worst teams in the NHL will not improve the league's situation
here's the rest of the picks 1 Pittsburgh Penguins 2 Anaheim Mighty Ducks 3 Carolina Hurricanes 4 Minnesota Wild 5 Montreal Canadiens 6 Columbus Blue Jackets 7 Chicago Blackhawks 8 Atlanta Thrashers 9 Ottawa Senators 10 Vancouver Canucks 11 Los Angeles Kings 12 San Jose Sharks 13 Buffalo Sabres 14 Washington Capitals 15 New York Islanders 16 New York Rangers 17 Phoenix Coyotes 18 Nashville Predators 19 Detroit Red Wings 20 Philadelphia Flyers 21 Toronto Maple Leafs 22 Bostin Bruins 23 New Jersey Devils 24 St. Louis Blues 25 Edmonton Oilers 26 Calgary Flames 27 Colorado Avalanche 28 Dallas Stars 29 Florida Panthers 30 Tampa Bay Lightning Who do you think the Canucks will pick? I mean I was hoping for a top 10 pick now that we have one I'd love to see Gilbert Brule come stay in Vancouver, if not Benoit Pouliot would be nice as well. I mean common that kid (Gilbert Brule) dominated in the WHL. I hope he's still around Good kid with great skills. Only Problem is his size but hey look at St.Louis of Tampa Bay. |

Hopefully Fluery will be better in net this yr...The kids got a lot of skills...Shit just see the way he played in those Canada Jr tournamets...He's just on a shit ass team with no defense... |

Hey I'm surprised the canucks finished got a top 10 pick PERIOD.
I mean imagine what they could have got like edmonton. Their picking 25th and Calgary is picking 26th overall! Nucks finally have a chance to pick up a second line center!! Or a proven talent. If they draft that goalie it only means that Cloutier is done. This draft will show us all how Dave Nonis plans on running the Canucks. As for the Ducks go, don't be surprised if Burke grabs the huge defensive defencemen Jack Johnson. I mean look at what Burke has done once he got with Hartford (now known as carolina) and the nucks. He drafted two solid D-Men with Pronger (now with the blues) and Mattias Ohlund who pretty much plays a period and half every game. Both these guys are on during key situations especially in a tight game. I personally can't wait till draft day. Nonis has a lot of decisions to make. For example, if Naslund leaves who will replace him? If Bertuzzi isn't the same after he gets resume playing hockey will he trade him? Will he trade Bert before the season even begins so he can start fresh? It'll be an interesting offseason as the Nucks only have 5 signed players. I wouldn't be surprised if Nonis does something huge on the deadline to show the organization as well as the rest of the team how he will be running things. However, he was burke's left hand man during the past few seasons so I wonder if he'll touch the core players at all. We'll just have to wait and see. Buckle up ladies and gents it's going to be one heck of an off season. In addition what do you guys think of the new rules that are being implemented for this season. Are you a nay or a yay!? |

I would CRIE if Nazzy left town...Fuck sake...Aside from Trevor when he was the heart/soul of the Team back in the late 80's early-mid 90's no one has until Naslund stepped up the past few yrs...:014:
Also would be a waste of my over $200 Canucks "Naslund" jersey I bought last yr... |

In the end, Crosby deserves better. There was one team that I most definitly didn't want to see him go to and that was Minny. Thank GOD. Ricey here are the following rule changes. No more ties - Following a scoreless five-minute overtime, three players from each team participate in a shootout. - Each team takes three shots. The team with the most goals after those six shots wins. - If the score remains tied, the shootout will proceed to a "sudden death" format. - If a game is decided by a shootout, the final score will give the winning team one more goal than its opponent, based on the score at the end of overtime. Two-line passes - Two-line passes will now be legal. The centre-red line will be ignored for off-side purposes. - The "tag-up" off-side rule returns, allowing play to continue if offensive players who preceded the puck into the zone return to the blue-line and "tag" it. Restrictions on goalies - The dimensions of goaltender equipment will be reduced by approximately 11 per cent. In addition to a one-inch reduction (to 11 inches) in the width of legpads, the blocking glove, upper-body protector, pants and jersey also will be reduced in size. - Penalties for goalies using oversizing equipment are: a two-game suspension, $25,000 fine for the team and trainer gets fined $1,000. - Goalies may play the puck behind the goal-line only in a trapezoid-shaped area defined by lines that begin six feet from either goal post and extend diagonally to points 28 feet apart at the end boards. Bigger Offensive Zone - The blue-lines will be moved closer together to create an additional four feet in each of the offensive zones. That reduces the size of the neutral zone to 50 feet from 54 feet. - The goal-lines will be moved two feet, to 11 feet from the end boards. - The width of blue-lines and centre-red line remains unchanged. Changes to icing - A team that ices the puck cannot make a line change prior to the ensuing face-off. - Touch remains in effect but linesmen will be given more discretion to wave off icing infractions if they are deemed the result of an attempted pass. Changes to instigator rule - A player who instigates a fight in the final five minutes of a game will receive a game misconduct and an automatic one-game suspension. The length of suspension would double for each additional incident. - In addition, the player's coach will be fined $10,000 US, a fine that would double for each such incident. Areas of emphasis for officials - Zero tolerance on interference, hooking and holding/obstruction. - Goalies who play the puck behind the goal-line but outside the designated puck-handling area will be penalized for delay of game. - Goaltenders will be penalized for delaying the game if they "freeze" the puck unnecessarily. - Any player who shoots the puck directly over the glass in his defending zone will be penalized for delay of game. Unsportsmanlike conduct - The league will review and assess fines to players who dive, embellish a fall or a reaction, or who feign injury in an attempt to draw penalties. - The first such incident will result in a warning letter; the second will result in a $1,000 fine; the third will result in a $2,000 fine; and the fourth incident will result in a one-game suspension. - Public complaints or derogatory comments toward the game also will result in fines. Competition Committee - Is comprised of four NHL players, four general managers and one owner and is supervised by Colin Campbell, NHL executive vice-president and director of hockey operations. - The players are Rob Blake of Colorado, Jarome Iginla of Calgary, Trevor Linden of Vancouver and Brendan Shanahan of Detroit. - The GMs are Bob Gainey of Montreal, Kevin Lowe of Edmonton, David Poile of Nashville and Don Waddell of Atlanta. - The owner is Ed Snider of Philadelphia. - Mike Gartner, the NHLPA's director of business operations, will provide input to the committee. hey once again, i'm gonna have to ask, why the fuck do you or anyone else care about how america perceives the game of hockey?
catering to a country that doesn't give a flying fuck about our game is exactly what got us into a year long lockout. not to mention that if the rangers had gotten crosby, that would be quite the fuckin reward for 5+ years of complete idiocy. i don't care about american markets, they don't care about us. at least pittsburgh truly needs this, with crosby they will get a new building, and at least there's history with the franchise and with winning it shows the market there can support a team. just be happy it wasn't carolina, rangers, islanders or minny that got crosby. |

WINNIPEG. And that IF is looking mighty good right about now. Till than it won't save Pittsburg unless they really do something amazing in the off season. Here's a great example. The Calgary Stampeeders with all the new acquisitions they made the off season they still suck. Hence same with Pittsburg they will still stink up the joint. That's pretty cool that the Canucks actually got a top 10 pic... it's almost flattering, though I don't really care who we pick, so long as NHL is here to say, I didn't get my play off fix this year and there were no good parties watching the big screen TV! *sigh* Stupid lock out, oh well, now that it's over, time to bring out the old Canucks merchandise (it's probably all packed away or at the Salvation army by now but oh well)!

This is a long shot but hey worth if the Nucks do get Gilbert Brule imagine the chaos. I've already decided to get a Crosby jersey already well just because it's Crosby. As for Naslund goes well he's done his time and he wishes to go back to Sweden I wish him the best of luck. However, with the Free Agent frenzy it'll be easy to replace him for example...THORNTON. I see the Av's being a completely new team by the time the season rolls around. Keep on dreaming STIM. Keep on dreaming. I much rather cheer on the Wild before the Av's. old news my friend. And if u wanna call Lacroix`s 8 straight division titles / 2 stanley cups in past 10 yrs, "cock sucking management" - go ahead.. but i think its safe to admit hes one of the best in his work. Its not impossible to re-sign big players. Its called RE-structuring. And if he can manage at least 4 or 5 of his stars to re-sign .. it sets the chain reaction for others to re-sign knowing the avs are still a legitiment contender like they`ve always been. Fuc i wanna write more about this but my heads about to explode from last nite. D-LO we gotta hit at least 1 avs/canucks game this year.. u rock your Canucks colors while i rock my Tanguay/Sakic or Forsberg jersey w/ the good old BLOW HORN. Nothing like the avs/canucks rivalry! |
