What if you or someone you care about was killed for no other reason than being black. Would you just laugh that off to? Maybe I didn't make myself clear, so I'll try again. What I am saying is that we live in one of the best places in the World and are fortunate enough that we don't generally have to fear racial or other persecution. That isn't 100% (is anything?) accurate though, every year in Canada over 500 serious hate crimes are reported with over 50% of them being racially motivated. What I'm saying is this, why would you want to be part of promoting the kinds of attitudes that allow people to convince themselves this is a good thing to do.

If racism is cool maybe you should start slapping your bitch around next time she tries to leave the kitchen... or you could just not be an ignorant retard. Even better instead of trying to argue your point and looking really dumb, just think about it.

you totally misunderstood what i was trying to say i think. i was talkin about the funny words people use like nammers and ******s and such in everyday speech.. (i would just like people to take that kinda stuff less seriously) hell i yell out "KIKE!! JEW!!" at people from cars all the time i think its funny .. it doesn't mean im being racist or anything.

I agree with what is said about propagating the use of derogatory terms.But, also think about the idea of taking back a word. The word "******" is used so much in popular comedy that it becomes less offensive as it becomes familiar. Now does this dilute the idea behind the word or does it propagate the use of the term. It's up to you to decide.

The term "Nammer" was used alot during the vietnam war by the coalition forces...

Now back in Montreal I had alot of black friends and they explained the differences between both a ****** and a Negro. It really comes down to white and white trash. They said that those in there community who caused trouble, used drugs... being a "gangster".... not supporting there family is considered as a "******". A Negro on the other hand is a hard working family person who is a part of modern day society and doesn't cause any trouble. I got this lecture when me and a friend Koffee (yes its pronounced as coffee) was sitting at a park bench and were looking at people and he was pretty much pointing out.... "See them ppl over there, Well I know them... they are trash... don't support there families... don't do shit.... Those are ******s". The white person's version of that is "white trash".

Now I often get questioned when I mention I am from montreal since I am primarily french canadian. Alot of people ask me "well do you support the seperation movement?".... Right.... Which explains why I came to bc... bright question... Stupid shit like that... All considered as racist/hate...

there are some good points here, but a lot of them are only lending to the power of these words. there is a huge difference between some raver talking about a nammer they saw at a party the night before dancing with a bottle on his head and a white supremacist talking about a ****** he was yelling at the night before. one is used descriptively and the other is used derogatively.

if i say the word ****** without any context, it's just a word and my saying it does not make me racist. nammer is even less racist than a word like ****** because it doesn't have a derogatory historical context; it's an abbreviation and purely descriptive. is the word aussie racist when describing an australian or does this only apply if your skin is a different color? now THAT is racist. heh.
