Fiero's are expensive to maintain... I would advise against it. If you're buying used, the reality is that you're gonna have to service it regularily. Buy something in that stuff like this can be done easily or someone can easily find parts for.
Just a thought... |

being a car freak and striving to become a mechanic i wouldn't really go for it. like Kraig said they take alot of maitance and if you aren't willing to do it yourself it can get expensive. also depends on how good the previou(s) owners have treated it. umm i know i should have a Lemonade book kinking around here somewhere.

u know that 300zx's are very expensive 2 fix and take premium fuel only?????
example.....a fuel injector is 300$ for the part alone with no labour and the mechanic explained to me since the 300zx is a v6 they usually replace all 6 fuel injectors so thats like 1800 for parts(with no labour and the fuel injectors arnt easy to get at).........oh and at a 15% insurance discount the 300 costs about 200 something $ per month |

Kevin I'm not gunna persuade you to do anything but you'd be smarter gettin a 200hp prelude vs. the 300hp modded 300zx's you're lookin at.. prelude will have enough power to have fun, but very reliable and cheap to maintain at the same time. |

^^^ right on the money with the Prelude, great cars for anything you need, except alot of trunk space but who needs more space then 2 15" subs eh:p question about turbo for an 86 Celica ..... worth it or not? he wants extra power and i believe a turbo is all he needs.

when pontiac designed the fiero they used many standard gm parts.
aside from the stamped steel structure and the plastic body panels, almost every major mechanical component is from another gm car. so fixing it shouldn't be that much of a problem. in it's day, being a 2 seat mid-engine sports car, it was compared to the first generation toyota mr2. in every test article, the mr2 is the better car. should you buy a fiero? NO! but as a first car to thrash... it all depends on the price and condition. you be the judge. |

I could get the prelude, then spend another 8 grand... Or i could save 8 grand and buy a car that has brand new turbos, 90,000Km , Mint body condition, All stock and not rat bagged, has stock 320hp, Dont have to aircare it. And i have full discount insurance. Now i have 8 grand left over to worry about what ever i want and i have a way cooler car than a prelude.
