Attn: promoters that use posters

If you use posters to get word out for your event, be advised that there is some fukking tool that walks about water st in gastown around 2ish that rips them down; he is about 6 feet tall, thin usually in track pants and never clean shaven with grey and brown hair (think dirty old construction worker)

He will give you some rant about permits to put up posters, and will try to rip down every one, so make sure you keep an eye out for this fukk nut so that you don't waste your time... He is lazy though so if you jump a block behind him you can put them all back up (as I learnt tonight)

Just wanted to give you guys the heads up so your efforts are not fruitless!!

They are now paying people to clear the posters from downtown. In a way to clean up the city in preperation for the 2010 olympics.

And as per the city trying to "clean up" the city..... Well I think that the posters are the least of there worries. They should focus on other things like maybe cleanin up the east side and shit. When the olympics come its all going to be about partying, mainly all of the olympians are going to be young which is good cause they are going to want to explore vancouver and want to party... posters of course is form of advertisements and what not so they may just want to go to that event. But if infact the city is not allowing posters then the city of vancouver is telling me this. "We don't support businesses", "yes we are the no fun city", "no were not going to clean up the east side so your most likely to get mugged, stabbed, killed". Right what a great image for vancouver.

And if I were a promotor and saw this guy ripping down posters I would confront him and ask him what he is doing... And if he gives the same bullshit "you need a permit" then I would want to see his employee id number with the city of vancouver and then get his supervisors name and phone number to discuss this matter.

ok, you're right we should clean up the d/t east side. since you're full of ideas, what exactly should we do with these people that are homeless and addicted to drugs?
not to mention your little culture of fear. i'm 5foot nothing and i work 2 blocks from main and hastings. i consistently walk through that area from early morning times to late at night when i'm off work as well as to and leaving lotus. i don't even get asked for change let alone "stabbed/mugged/killed"

Just giving a heads up to others... There are tons of places to put them up, just telling people to watch out for super citizen. I mean tossin up posters isn't exactly rocket science. (Avana I dunno if that is pete or not even :) )

Nope it isn't rocket science.

But what Pete does, is makes sure no one posters over your posters, and replaces ones right away that get taken down....he also does all the multiple glued up ones.
