P.A.R.T.Y will become famous soon enough
Around 5 years ago Vancouver`s DJ Jon said the scene was dead. He sold his records, his tables, packed up and fucked off. Guess what? There are probably close to 100,000 dance clubs/afterhours in the world today showcasing amazing dj`s, live P.A`s, battlebreaks, strippers, etc.. There is no death, the music isn`t getting worse. We are desensitized to dance music is all. A track that blew your mind few years ago won`t have the same effect today. Producers are having to work harder, become more technical. I think this is progress, the scene evolves and flourishes.
When corporate America heard about all the fun kids were having at these `illegal parties,` they tried to cash in and came to as close to ruining our good time as anyone could. However, we didn`t buy it and they know it! They`ve backed off a bit and now were in control again, lets tear this mother fucker up!

The only thing that makes the scene hurting is all the people who think it's hurting. If everyone came in with the right attitude, it would be much cooler. Personally, I'm there because I want to listen to sick music that I'm passionate about.. like some funnnnnnky house that makes me wanna use all my dance skills right? (well breaks is much easier to dance 2, but anyway) Then, when you need a break from that, you party with a bunch of amazing people (as long as you know the right people IMO)

Alright sure, you can say the scene collapsed after plaza went down, but are you there for the venue or the people/music/dancing/good times?

Having said that, I still think PNE parties are garbage. Id have more fun @ a warehouse with my tight friends vs. a PNE party..

I'll refrain from commenting either way, and just ask the question:

Where were all the summer parties this year?

I think it's plain to see that there were a lot less this year than other years. Am I incorrect? There used to be small parties every weekend in the summer... :(

I always see the "older" generation of ravers hating on the newbies coming in. They ARE the new scene.. and instead of being resentful that you aren't new to raving anymore maybe show them what raves are all about and put a little of your history into the scene. Having newbies around you is a great way to stay in the scene. And for all those people who are depressed that kandy is dying out.. well put some kandy on your wrists and go plur, the new ravers pick up on those things and it can be fun passing it on. The scene is what you make of it!

the scene is not dying its completely dead.
thats why raves still continue to be held like every other week.
dying is a bad word to use, changing would be the more correct word.

To everybody that's complaining that the scene is dead/dying:

Go to better parties.

Been to about 3 top-notch raves in the last year. No plethora of kids, no politic, none of this "scene is dying" jaded bullshit. Just people looking to get down and have a good time.

It's just a frikkin' party.
