its extremely hard to edit video. I can do it but i chose not to do it.
I'd get in touch with someone (other than me) that know's how to do it. Some software is easy to use but uber crap. My dad has an avid workstation in his office so I use that. |

talk about overkill. windows comes free with windows movie maker, which will work fine for simple edits. you just need to make sure your computer has the right inputs (and that your camera is digital, for that matter, or else you'll need a converter).

If you can't find someone, try putting up an ad a Vancouver Film Skool or Emily Carr and you should be able to find a student who can do it for a few $.
Maybe put a little ad at Craigslist right here: http://vancouver.craigslist.org/tfr/ There's a little place in Abbotsford that does that kind of thing for home videos, weddings etc but they're probably expensive - Video Hi-Lites 604-852-1912 Albert Waardenburg / owner. It can be also be done on a Mac or a decent XP computer but it takes a bit of messin around especially if an analog camcorder was used. Quote:

if it's full size vhs,
in order to do linear editing, u have to capture the video from analogy to digital. ppl w/ ati all-in-wonder video cards can do that. so can any dedicated video capture cards like the ones w/ BT848 chipsets. it's a simple process if you have the hardware. |
