anyone watching the winter olympics?
it gets addictive...
mmmm... michelle kwon... it's mental watching NBC though, they harsh focus on their american athletes... they had an awards ceremony yesterday and an american won silver, norway won gold, and japan won bronze... i didn't even get to see the japanese girl's face ... barely even saw the norwegian chick's face and SHE got the gold! they played her national anthem and they focus on the american girl... jeez... i was getting to mad cuz i didn't get to see the japanese girls' face once... and that US flag they recovered from the WTC and used in the opening ceremony. i don't buy it. they probably just cut a few holes in a flag and brought it out, praying for more compassion... anyways. LATVIA!! LATVIA is playing hockey tonite! LATVIA |

omigosh, i watched Jamie Sale & David Pelletier's performance tonight... i literally ran home to catch it in time...
POETRY IN MOTION. that was fucking breathtaking... hands down one of the BEST performances of ANYTHING i have witnessed in my life... i died when the judges fucked them like that... but it was sweet to see the entire stadium chanting and applauding the performance, and then booing the judges... absolutely amazing... i have to have it on tape |

Jamie Sale & David Pelletier's performance
WOW.
That was exactly it, Poetry in Motion. I do enjoy watching the skating, but that performance was incredibly stunning. It just had that magic to it!! I've never seen anything like that before. Bob, i will agree, one of the best performances of anything i've ever seen. I am in awe. And yes, the judges fucked up. and they all know it. That was heartbreaking for a lot of people. I loved the crowd reaction as well. Did anyone see J. wethering (?) at the 500m speed skating? He was vaunted as being canada's best chance for gold and he caught a tip of his skate and fell in the first couple of steps of the race. He made it so far, and then that fluke accident happened. i can't imagine what that feels like... |

Jamie Sale & David Pelletier deserve gold!!!! Did you notice that there were no North American judges. A similiar panel cost Elvis his gold.
I don't blame the Russian skaters, but the judges. :211: I read in the paper that the judge that gave them the winning score was looking for favourtism because there is an upcoming competition in his country. :375: Also, Pelletier & Sale were very graceful during there interviews after the event. They didn't blame anyone and took the silver with grace. This is what a true Canadian is! |

it was canada, usa, japan, and 1 other country that gave the canadians a #1 ranking. it was the russians and the chinese (go figure russians and chinese were the other top 2 medal contenders) and a couple others that didn't. and pelletier was pretty pissed during the interview, hehe... sure he didn't blow his lid. but he said something like "i would be lying if i said i was completely happy with the decision" ... sale was good though, she was just happy with her performance... |

I'm a total olympics junkie :)
Last night I saw the ice dancing and I would have to admit I was a little confused as to why the Canadians didn't do better. I had no idea it was such a huge deal (you should have heard the uproar on CKNW this morning about it all..) I think maybe the Russians did a bit better because although the guy fell (and didn't they have the most disgusting costumes?)...the couple appeared to have WAY more chemistry than the Canadians...with things like this, chemistry can contribute much more to the performance. Dunno, just what I noticed. A good performance by the Canadians nonthless, I really liked their prepschoolesque costumes. M |
