^^^ Wait till my ice wine that I made is ready to drink....that stuff is going to be off the chains.....It sucks that I have to wait so long for it to age, but its so worth it.....I popped open a bottle of this Shiraz that I made a month or two ago, and I was like, hmmm......Its alright, popped the same kind two days ago, and it tasted pretty good, Id say it'd be awesome prolly around new years...mwuahaha =)

mmm, stop yer making me jealous haha
I used to work at a wine brewery so I made a couple batches of this tropical fruit stuff with extra % of alcohol that tasted like apple juice if you added ice...hadda be carefull drinking it if you had to function later hehe. It was soo good, wish I could get some more, but now it would cost to much for a batch, oh well, the less booze for me the better. |

I was told it's the sulphites in the wine that cause the headache. Sulphites are used as a preservative in most wines, but that shit was the stuff we used to clean the bottles out at the U-brew.
With the stuff that I made it obvioulsy didn't have any sulphites in it and I could drink quite a few bottles and be drunk with no hangover or headaches, but the store bought stuff gives me mad headaches and killer hangovers if I drink more then a bottle at a time. Next time you buy a bottle of wine look for some small print on the bottom of the label that says if it contains sulphites. Un-fortunately most of them will have tonnes of the stuff in it, I've only seen a few bottles/brands that didn't have any, can't remeber which ones now. |

Couldn't have said it better myself. I was the exact same way, I used to be very pro beer, but now, I'm starting to become more concious of carbs, and since the only beer I liked was Guinness, and various others stouts, that become a problem, until of course I discovered, a nice bottle of Kerner, then became familiar with other variants like the Gwertraminer's, Rieslings, Pinot Auxerrois', etc. From there I was curious as to what others there were, and then of course, the whole make it yourself thing started coming into play. I haven't looked back since =) |
