Yeh make sure you take your RCA's (red and white) cord from the MAIN OUTPUT of your mixer to the red white connectors on the back of your CD PLAYER. Then turn on your mixer (always power up your mixer before turning on any amp or sound device) after mixer is online, turn on CD PLAYER and for input type select AUX on the cd player. Play a record on your turntable, if there is no sound make sure the volumn is turned up on your cd player, double checkl that its on AUX. If still no sound, make sure your UPFADERS are up, that is the fader that goes up and down, also make sure your GAIN(can also be called TRIM) on the top of your channel is turned up. This knob will be located directly above the UPFADER you are using, look at the VU meter and make sure the lights are flashing(If the lights get too high in the red, turn down your GAIN or TRIM). Last thing is make sure your master output GAIN or TRIM is turned up. That should allow sound to get to your speakers. If you aren't getting any signal on your VU meter or any sound in your headphones, then it isn't a problem with your speaker setup but could be a problem with not having one of the knobs or faders that control volumn turned up or could be that you did not connect your needles to the headshell correctly. Search google for dj forums, there is a wealth of newb forums out there that will help you on your journey.
Good Luck.
