burning cd problem

i was burning a data cd and i set it up to
a)burn the data
b)verify the data was copied correctly (or verify it was readable, one of the two)

it froze when it started the verification step. the disc reads as empty in my computer; it plays the mp3s in my stereo but will not play in my discman.
is there anyway to 'finalize' the disc (assuming thats what wasnt completed/not sure about this) or should i have just redone it

I never use the Verify option. I verify by putting it in a CD Player.

i think its just cause my computers fucked
ive been using these cds for a while so its not them, comp just froze up that time
ive used the verify option a couple times before too never had a problem
