So I'm going to Mexico in December, and I've been thinking about getting this shot. I'm just wondering if it's worth it on short notice, because it sounds like there are risks of a lot of side effects. and they like to do the 3 shots over 6 months. But they can speed it up to within a month. It just seems like a large difference in time. And I'm wondering if there would be a greater reaction if I did it too fast.

Anyway Just wondering if anyone has gotten it before. I'm going to be staying in a fairly decent area of Mazatlan, so I'm not sure if it's high risk or not. But maybe better safe then sorry with my health. I really don't feel like getting Hep A or B. Although I think B is mostly sexualy transmitted. So A is my bigger concern.

Anyway feedback on what people think of it would be nice.

I lived in Mazatlan for about 2 months while I was 15. I wouldn't worry about a thing.
Its one of mexico's most tourist friendly places.

Yah I already plan to not drink tap water or have ice in my drinks. But I've heard that it can even come from careless washing of eating utensils, or if someone in the kitchen staff has it. I mean I've gone before and nothing happened, so I guess I could just be very carefull.

Yah I think most of Mazatlan should be ok. But my dad did mention that he wanted to do some side trips to smaller towns. So that's where more of my concern is. The standards may not be as high.

I get that shot once a year Lauren. And now with my part time job, they are making me get the shot as well. There is nothing wrong with having it, and I have never ever noticed any side effects.

I have had friends that came back with said poopy pants, and one of them, it plagued them for over two months. Better safe than shitty right?

Go get it!!! Better safe than sorry. I got it last year just weeks before I went to Thailand and I didn't experience any negative side effects.
