So been working on a tattoo design for my ex gf (soon to be back together) for a while now.... Thought I'd share this with you guys....
Its basically a tribal art version of a butterfly / dragon fly type species. Still have lots to get done.....

im not a fan of tribalistic symbols, but i am in fact digging the lines on this, and the symmetry and interior negetive space works. Perhaps for the sake of originality, check out some books, or pictures of early heoroglyphics, inca/aztec war paint, or even something akin to geiger-esque lines, and give a organic, perspective to the piece. Nonetheless it feels different that the same old "tribal" bullshit, and i think as is, its pretty interesting. Perhaps having the colour in a very light shade, might give it a luminescent quality that will differ from most other tribal inspired tattys?

@ EVER666 - were you saying the scorpion idea was lame, or the picture here?

i don't recall ever seeing a scorpion done that way, and i will need some idea's soon for mine
