rocking a poker tourney

right now im 4th of 130 remaining players in a TEC qualifier on ultimatebet.com. top 10 recieve $100+9 tourney tickets which will get me a seat in a $22000 guaranteed prize pool tourney.

update i just lost 11k with pocket jacks to big slick and now im in 6th with $80k in chips.
chip leader of the tourney has $144k, but 2nd place only has $91k so im not far from the top

so i just took a HUGE bad beat, flopped top 2, i bet with 2 callers, turn is a nothing so i pot bet to push them out and buddy with 3/4 my stack pushes in and rivers a set.
shitty part was he had under pair and shouldnt have been playing that pot after the flop, fuck im pretty choked.
im down to about 25k in chips putting me in around 50th place
blinds are at 600-1200 with a 125 ante so i need to hit a couple big hands right now

so theres a preflop raise with 2 big stack callers and it comes around to me on the button with pocket aces, so i push my last 20k in, 1 caller who had like 45k left with ak, flop comes k small small, turn king, river king.
busted out in 66th of 2500 after a long run in the top 10.

^ya i was trying to win myself a tec for the 22k guaranteed
usually i play 10+1 and 20+2mtts but my bankroll has been taking a beating, placed 4 from the bubble, then on the bubble, then 8 from the bubble consecutively at 20+2. and at 10+1 i placed 2 into the money basically giving me a return and some change, and then a bunch of 10 and 20 from the money finishes.
havent been doing to well as of late.

i usually play these games in prime time so theres usually around 200 players at $20 and top 30 pay. and i've been consistent in the 30-39th place finish.
i need to get myself down to the river rock for an early bird $30+4 friday morning game or something because online has been killing me

i started my online career on pokerroom but i moved over to ub and have had nothing to complain about.
omega; i play sngs for profit, but i play the mtts for poker... and the big payoff (which eludes me). i've placed itm a few times at $10 and fallen just short at $20

lol the satt's which u speak of are live games at the rock.....

altho they only have level 2 satt's for the huge no limit tourney which is about a $550 buy in.

if you're looking to get into the bc championship tourneys and are short of cash, my best recommendation would be the limit tourney. simply because the pot limit is going to be a huge headache; the dealers dont know how to count the pots correctly and spend about 15 minutes on each hand trying to figure out the max bet, meanwhile the timer's still going and the blinds go up.

and only play the limit tourney IF YOU KNOW LIMIT STRATEGY AND HAVE PATIENCE.
if you are a no-limit player and you just want to participate in the championships study the strategy of limit hold 'em first. you will get nowhere in a limit tourney if you dont study first, i dont care how good of an NL player you are.

i have about 1000 clay chips and 2 decks of 100% plastic cards for my home games. i'm also willing to play a game, and have some friends that would be interested. does anyone have a space where we can run more than 1 table?

By the way, UB is alright ..but www.fulltiltpoker.com is the best online poker site hands down. They have 8k MTT's for a 24+2 buy in daily ..and the juciest cash games on the net. All of there SnG's have really slow levels of blinds so its based on skill not luck ..also getting to watch people like phil ivey and howard lederer duke it out at 50/100 NL every night is pretty sweet.

i play sng's myself, i rarely have 5+ hours straight that i can commit to a mtt. when i first started online all i played were mtt's, but lots of those were freerolls so do those even count?

for me sng=gettin paid, mtt=might get paid
