Inexpensive computer parts.

Looking to replace my laptop keyboard.

Any suggestions for places carrying inexpensive parts - either stores or online?

Check out a place like A-Power.com or ATIC

A-Power is in Richmond and Burnaby, ATIC downtown.

I am actually looking to completely replace the existing keyboard. I have a seperate one that I use at home...

My cat decided to sleep on it one day when I left it opened and scratched off some keys... If I could replace individual keys I would, but I couldn't find the little rubber things that go underneath, and I put aside the keys for safe keeping, and now can't find them.

It looks like it goes for about $50US tho.

best thing to do is buy the same model one off of ebay and swap parts.

a-power is very cheap, I got the components for my last system there.

http://www.a-power.com/

Of course the cheapest way is to know someone who owns a computer business and get them to pick up your components from the wholesale warehouse next time they make a run ;)

it's a compaq presario 700.

In reality I think I'm better off getting a new computer... but I'm on such a budget right now. :(

I do this at home. I'm also a student. I have this laptop for it's portability... carrying around a keyboard isn't really what I'm going for here. They keyboard still works it's just a pain in the ass because I have to use my fingernail to get certain keys to work. Slows me down.

The one with the cracked LCD screen is for work... which I just dock to my work desktop computer so I get around it. But the company doesn't know I've wrecked it yet and I've been told they would chrg me for it so I'm always looking to get it replaced for cheap cheap cheap.

wow, I only just NOW noticed the word "laptop" in your original post.... oops...

totally just ebay it, it'll be pretty cheap and it's the best solution, if you dont' have a CC, just get a buddy to sign up for paypal and do it, you don't have to wait for confirmation like you did before, s'just like buying anything online
