Looking back at 2005... What DJ's, sets, performances, Raves were your favorites?
Sets - Sander Kleinenberg @ Plush - Never thought I could like progressive.
Performances - Armin Van Buuren & Ferry Corsten - Armin's performance in September and Ferry's in April. Raves - wow... I did not attend much this year... so I'm going to go with New World Order: Four-Twenty in Edmonton PVD was okay when he was here .... I'd much rather see Ferry again. |

Sets: Sander Klienenberg @ Plush - one of the best clubnights I've been to and probably the best event ever thrown at Plush.
Performances: Z-Trip @ Richards on Richards - The man has some mad skills. Raves: the lights are in semi-retirement. :( |

Favorite sets this year:
Mike Relm @ Shambhala - this set has made me a fan for life J-Rocc @ Atlantis - sooo sick. Some of the deepest crates I've ever seen. He even played a funk cover of the m'nah m'nah tune from the Muppet Show. Z-Trip @ Richards - hontestly, I've actually seen better sets from him in the past, but the combination of all the visuals, live performances, and energy made this really memorable. Favorite party: Soundwave hands-down. Shambhala was insane, crazy and one hell of an experience but it was almost *too* over the top. Soundwave was situated in one of the most beautiful loctions in BC, had a far more intimate feel and generally seemed to be a lot more chill and relaxing. |

I didnt see them the first time they came.. But the second time IM came to atlantis.
I couldnt believe their set list and all the amazing build ups. But this previous time.. Wasnt as good as the first time i saw them. None the less, still a great set by masters of psy trance. |

eeeesh...
Sander K @ Plush. Ztrip @ Richard's - honestly everything I didn't expect ztrip to pull out, I was hesitant to go because I thought it would be him bored pulling the same old. I was so wrong. People Under The Stairs@ Richard's- basically saw one of my favorite groups of all time put on a show that was full of energy and all of my favorites. Getting pulled up on stage and getting to hug double k was good times. Dj Premier @ Atlantis- Hello? The legend! Need I say more... High Contrast @ The Lotus Talib Kweli @ The Commadore- nice to have an option to see Talib without having to sit through an entire performance of BEP. Guru rocking up on stage out of nowhere was also awesome. This was my third time seeing Talib and it's always a good performance. Maseo @ Tokyo Lounge Who do I hope to see in 2006? Mos Def (<3), A Tribe Called Quest renunion (ha!), RJD2 (please please pretty pleaaaaaaaase?!), Scratch Perverts. |

oh yeh! scratch tour & talib kwali were also top of my list. I've been busy this year.
Jazzy jeff rocking the serato scratch live. He controlled that crowd like none other. Grandwizard thedore with the grand entrance haha, that was great. I remember going into the Talib show hoping he would play move somethin'. BAM first track! Dom&Roland played straight dark neuro rollers at Freaknight. Great set. Influenza also rocked the mainstage till the early morning. Last edited by decypher; Dec 12, 05 at 01:36 AM. |
