i have a little sony one. its the one thats a circle, cant find it at the moment... anyways i won off the beat, and so far its rocked my socks. the software taht comes with it is rediculously easy to use, its tiny and fits anywhere, and has been my running. busing and painting companion. i can put about 3 hours worth of music on it, which for my lifestyle is enough.
havent had any gliches or problems yet. its upstairs and due to company i cant go up there at the moment or ill wake them all up, but i can give you full info on it tomorow if you like. |

i just got the new 30gig ipod video for christmas (a bit early, but what the hell) and its pretty freaking sweet. Ive only had it for about a week so i cant attest to the long term durability, but so far im really impressed at the sound and video. Ive got more music on there than i know what to do with.

i had an mpio, the rectangular one, amazing sound, it was nice and slick, with 256 mb, enough for what i need it for. but i hated the software. it kept freezing and it was shitteh to deal with. besides the battery life was sooo short. the sony's are a good buy. they have these new really cool looking ones in different colors.

i really think getting an mp3 player with anything less than 512 when it comes to memory is a bad idea. most of the mp3 players with large storage capacity are usually on whats called flash drive (simplar to usb keys), most 256 are on hard disk. basically the difference is flash drive won't skip unless you smash it but hard disk will. oh and flashdrives are faster to upload and download off of
oh and if you ask a store clerk wether its flash or hard disk, they usually don't know. at least the sony people havn't when i walk in there. haha |

i have RIO - 512 mb, and i like it, but at same time i dont!
i like how sporty it is, and i can wear it on wrist band while working out, but i dont liek it cause i had to exchange 3 times. i did a reasearch and those things tend to break! i suggest not to get anything smaller then 512mb, its just such bitch uploading new music all the time, get yourself at leat 1 GB, so u dont have to worry about uploading new music all the time! i heard creative IS good.... |

i had a creative zen micro (5GB, $229 retail) but i had a whole bunch of problems with it so i complained to creative a couple of times and they were excellent for fixing my beef. they sent me a creative zen touch (20GB, $379 retail) for free.
its a bit bigger in physical size but the tradeoff for the 20GB hdd and 24 hour battery life is well worth it. |

DO NOT BUY SONY
You *have* to use their software which is buggy and bloated. Also, you *have* to convert all mp3 files to ATRAC3, Sony's proprietary format in which the only change is extra anti-consumer copy protection. Thus it takes way way longer to load music onto a Sony. DO NOT BUY SONY |
