More medical concern
When I'm trying to fall asleep, I get these sort of "extreme headrushes" in which I think I have to shake it out of my body, and I sit up straight. My brain gets a rush and I'm "not all there" the whole thing only lasts a couple of seconds, but it happens a few times every night.
Also, sometimes when I'm just about asleep, I have this weird experience. It feels like I can't breathe, and the only way to stay alive is to wake up (I'm half awake, half asleep) It feels like I'm being pinned down. It's EXTREMELY hard to move my arms or legs or keep my eyes open for that matter. But I found that starting with my toes helps. It's like I have to awake or I'm going to die or suffocate. By any chance, does anyone else experience any of these things? |

sleep paralysis
-some have attributed it to demonic posession, i attribute my own ongoing battle with it to be a recovering addict. Ive been going through it for 1 year straight, the only times i wouldnt was if i was extremely exhausted mentally, or i popped a few seraquils. -i still go through it, and recently its come back, im heading to the docs again, when i get time, my shrink told me it could be related to "sleep apnia(sp?)" which i believe means that one is not getting enough air while asleep. Past heavy cocaine use could be part of it, as well as scar tissue build up, from slamming my nose in a drunken accident in my other life. Im actaully glad you mentioned this, you reminded me to get my ass to the docs. If any of this sounds familiar or relative, then perhaps you might benefit from going too. http://www.rjmatthewsmd.com/Definiti..._apnea%202.htm http://www.stanford.edu/~dement/paralysis.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis (not the best source, but good general info) Weight ps. havent gotten those stickers made yet, but ill be sure to save a few for you. |

i used to have sleep paralysis many years ago. when i woke up in the paralysis state i would be so scared as i was unable to move. for some reason i thought that i had woken up from a nightmare and that i was "scared stiff."
years past and eventually it stop, i did not realize what it was until i met someone who also experinced sleep paralysis. at that time i had access to the internet so i did some research and found out that sleep paralysis was exactally what i had experinced. i have only had two or so episodes in the last 5 years that i can remember. the first happened a few years ago when i fell asleep with my head on my desk at work. when i woke up i thought that someone had come into my office and i was trying like hell to get up, or at the least raise my arm to let them know that i'd be with them in a moment. when i came out of it i realized that there had been no one there : | the second time was just the other morning, i woke up really early in the morning to let my cat out and then crawled back to bed, as i was falling asleep i heard music playing. it sounded like it was coming out of a clock radio (which i do not have), i tried to get up to turn it off but i was in the paraylsis state : | i struggled with it for a few moments until i realized what was happening and then i relaxed....must have gone to sleep after that cuz i don't remember anything after that. sleep paralysis used to scare the heck out of me, but since i have read about it and now have a better understanding of what and why i can somewhat relax when it does happen. |

Sounds sorta like what my step father has. His nasal passages collapse in his sleep. As a result he wakes up a billion times through the night or has a super shitty sleep and ends up being super groggy from being oxygen starved.
He has a mask thing that constantly pumps oxygen positive pressure through his nasal cavaties. Anyway, long story short. Since no one here is a doctor go get that shit checked out. |
