^ i certainly am,and why?well ive been a smoker for the past 8 years,quitting smoking completely while pregnant can put my body through too much stress thus putting the baby through too much stress and I can miss carry.
This was what my doctor had told me,and what any other doctor will tell you as well.Ive cut way down i have maybe 3-4 ciggs a day if that. So how about you shut your mouth,and dont open it until you actually know what the fuck youre talking about,and until youve invested the time that I have in studying about pregnancy and the risks during pregnancy and how you can avoid miscarriage. And by the way,to personally attack me because youre a shitty writer is in poor taste.Its quite tacky and immature actually.And where did your shitty poetry thread go anyways little girl? grow up. |

Ummm Godessa about that
YOur doctor wouldnt (shouldnt) say that YOur doctor would (should) tell you to slowly cut down and QUIT befor 20 weeks... When highly addicted dont quit cold turkey, but you must quit, i cut down alot and am off smoking, i was off it within a month! and dont tell me he wouldnt either id kno my moms a nurse for bc womens and i was a smoker for over 6 years and in your situation, smoked a pack a day or more, i quit didnt miscarry either btw Did you kno everytime you smoke your babies heartbeat stops and the area he/she is in gets surrounded in a cloud of smoke. Its like a hotbox but the baby cant let the smoke out.... Last edited by PwInCeSs; Jan 26, 06 at 06:45 PM. |

usually my morning rountine is as follows, during the week;
alarm (10 min fast) 6:30 am snooze 10-15 min. up by about 645, turn on computer(yes, cuz im that much of a geek) and put on some music have a shower, get dressed, eat leave house by about 7:10-15 drive to skool in abbey, go to the gym at my campus at about 8 work out for an hour-45 min (depending on time) change, wash/make up etc, and in class by 910 |

^my doctor told me to not quit,he told me to cut down which I have done.And everytime you smoke the babys heart beat does not stop,the amniotic fluid in the sack drops in temperature and the sack does not fill with smoke...thats not humanly possible to inhale smoke through your lungs then have it go down all the way to your reproductive organs into the sack which is like protective sphere for the baby.If your moms a nurse...and if she supplied you with that information....shes not very smart.because the information she provided you is not accurate by any means.
Now I can understand and apprciate your concern,and you might not agree with my actions,however not you or anyone else has the right to force thier own opinions or ideals about pregnant women upon me.Thats just ridiculous and in poor taste. |

The toxins and nicotine from the smoke go to the baby and surround it, yes studies have prooven that the babies heart beat does infact stop.(not for long mind you, or it signifficantly slows down) My mom did not provide me with that information i have looked it up aswell, and my doctor told me that. I wouldnt go Judging other peoples medical knowledge when you are the one who wont even quit for your baby. Cutting down should lead to quitting. I feel sorry for you when your baby is born, it will be going through withdrawls from nicotine and some babies bodies cant handle that and it has fatal results. I hope this does not happen to you, cause i would hate that happening to me when mine is born, thats why i have taken every step, and if you want books with studies that show what smoking does i will give them to you, i think you would have a change of heart. |

Work Days
Alarm at 5:08AM -Throw clothes around trying to find things -Shower -Drive 160km on the highway -Richmond -Run inside open locker -Throw Vest on grab clothes -jump down a flight of stairs -type in employee code -run onto floor and start kicking around boxes like nobodys business. School days: -Alarm goes off at 8am -Suddenly it's 9 and i'm pissed off -shower -Grab books and laptop -Catch bus up seymour, skytrain to new west while reading the Dose -Class/newspaper reading. Godessa, no offence but if your not responsible enough to quit smoking while having a baby, why are you having the baby? Last edited by decypher; Jan 26, 06 at 07:19 PM. |

Godessa, no offence but if your not responsible enough to quit smoking while having a baby, why are you having the baby?[/QUOTE] i agree.. when my cousin got married, his wife was pregnant during the wedding.. at the reception i saw her smoking cigs and havng a few drinks.. i was so digusted by this. How could you do that to something so helpless. I mean think for a second here. Its your responsibilty to provide this child with a healthy environment from the time its concieved to the time it moves out of your house..I dont understand some people some times.. This one time i saw a couple driving in there car, with a 4 month old baby in the back seat.. Obviously ashes and smoke were blowing over the baby.. When they stopped at a light i bitched them out.. but they didnt give two shits. |

HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA. Thank you for the laughs, you really are consistant. =) You think i was "attacking" you, sorry but if anyone posted on here that they were smoking while preggers i would flip. I tihnk it is sick. My thread is gone for my own personal views on how i feel about sharing my work and quite frankly, i do not want to deal with people like you and i do not want to have to even think of defending myself to you. It's gone so i am no longer tempted to mark how many times you contradict yourself, and drawing out how you have the mind blowing precetion of a jessica simpson, or at least when it comes to name calling. Get some creativity miss. poetry, you've told me to "grow up" ten times now is that really the best you got? QUIT SMOKING IF BRITNEY SPEARS CAN DO WITH A CHAIN SMOKING HUBBY I DON'T SEE WHY YOU COULDN'T. ITS WRONG. Last edited by Tea; Jan 26, 06 at 07:50 PM. |

Some pregnant bitch came up to me today at the skytrain station trying to sell me a transfer. I wanted to kick her in the teeth soo bad. Your doctor is an idiot. You don't stop smoking cold turkey when you're pregnant because the baby goes through withdrawal right along with you, but you cut down gradually until you've eventually succeeded in quitting. You can also use the fucking patch to replace the nicotine levels in your blood while you're attempting to quit. You're smarter than this. |

ya pretty much your being selfish. you're putting your baby's health at risk. you are obviously not responsible enough to have it if you think its ok to be smoking. you should wait until you have fully quit and prepare yourself to have a healthy child. think of this as an oppurtunity for you to quit for good. the baby may come out normal at first, but you never know what will happen as your child develops. my friend had a baby at 16 and smoked 'ultra light' cigarettes throughout her intire pregnancy and now her kid has learning problems as smoking can cause problems with brain development.

I don't understand why any responsible doctor would tell you to keep smoking during your pregnancy. I mean, even smoking around babies is discouraged because it has been associated with SIDS (sudden infant dealth syndrome). Why don't you just admit that you're too selfish to stop pumping your body full of drugs (nicotine is definitely a drug) during your pregnancy?

mine told me to cut down like hers did
then followed with then stop! Yes correct its not healthy to quit cold turkey but its not healthy for the baby to keep smoking! Smoking can lead to a colic (sp?) baby as well, and trust me you wouldnt want that, along with a newborn withdrawing from nicotine |
