hey another alternative that you can use is special sound barrier foam..... Somtimes depending on the specified sizes that you need it can be alot cheaper then sound curtains.... I know a place in abbotsford that deals with various foams up and including sound barrier type insulation foams.

when we lived in an apartment building downtown, we just hooked up a sleeping bag to the main door and shoved another one down by the crack on the bottom. it worked pretty good to keep the sound/smoke in. but remember, bass travels down, so if u dont want downstairs neighbours to kick your ass, raise your speakers off the ground and put them on something to absorb the bass (a cement brick is your best bet ).
also, you could buy foam from long n mcquade or any other music/entertainment supply store. its kinda expensive and comes in sq ft blocks that you join together. its corugated so it bounces the sound back in. (great for studios [ie put them in the corners of your room to bounce the sound surround style]) hope that helps? lol |

thanks guys... i appreciate it:)
its nothing for a studio or anything... its for my room.. i have no door in my room cuz its alllllll the way on the top... its like a loft, so i want to put up a curtain that will reduce the sound so i dont piss off the rest of my family downstairs... and how much sound does a curtain reduce... cuz i remember at spooky 8 in the wack, they used curtains, but then i can still hear a lot of the other music going on, BUT then again the music was POUNDING there |
