Cleanse/Fasting Programs
I plan on giving up Alcohol for 40 days starting in March. I also plan on doing a cleanse to detoxify my body, and hopefully boost my immune system (for those that know me, know how sick I am all the time, or so it seems).
What have you tried and actually stuck to? Have you been able to stick to it and actually follow the cleanse? How did you feel before/during/after? I have tried a 7 day diet in the past, something similar to the link.... http://www.3fatchicks.com/diets/cabbage-soup-diet.php Suggestions, recommendations? |

Did you see how jack osbourse lost all those points.... he went through an intense program... |

I'm 51 days clean and sober and notice a huge differance in the way i feel and look, i'm much more healthy now. I'm not on any cleansing program i just eat better and more drink 2 or 3 litres of water a day and take lots of vitamins and supplaments reccomended by my doctor.
So glad i decided to do this. |

I got a book yesterday on detoxes avanner! it is choc'full of lots of helpful info!
reccomends 1-2 24h cleanses a month or one 2 day cleanse a month or one three day cleanse every 1-2 months, obviously the latter is much more challenging..I'm going to try a 24h one this sunday, I'll let you know how it goes! |

*My biggest advice is to break your habbits/diet into steps one at a time. Going all at once will only bring you back. Example in my first week of a cleanse I stoped sugar and fried foods/saturated.
Week 2 I cut out all dairy and alcohol. Week 3 was the hardest as I thought I could never cut out caffine. Basicly it was like I set a short goal for the week... when the week came up and I managed to succeed I realised how easy it was and was use to it... therefore I kept with cutting out the one thing and added on to the next. *You have to have the big NO power. Once you alow your self to cheet then youll find yourself cheeting more and more. You have to be willing to say no, no matter what. Even if its your best friends wedding or if your meet mr bling who offers to buy non stop dirnks at the bar. *Quiting alcohole is probly one of the hardest if your a partyer. I only seem to find it super hard the first couple of times out... after that Im use to it and could stop dinking for months. You also realise how much money your saving :D *When it came to quiting caffine it was nice how I started forcing myelf to bed earlyer. I enjoyed hot water and lime juice instead for coffee break. I think quiting caffine gave me more energy than taking caffine for energy. *To avoid a sugar craving understand that there are good sugars you can get away with such as fruit (sunrype fruit bars sooo sweet and good), raw sugar, and malasis are all great nanural sugars that dont harm your body like refined sugars or aspertine. Also watch out for juices... read the labels and must say 100% juice on them. Punch/cocktail/drink are full of refined sugars!!! *I found when I went on a long term cleanse diet I completely lost my sex drive... therefore I no longer had a craving for chocolate either... wasnt untill I started having a chocolate bar or two a week I finaly got it back :p *Not having Convient food is very hard to deal with since youll be eating mostly fresh food and have to prepare it. I sugest haveing alot of easy snack food available. Have a prepared salad ready, snack on grapes and other fruit, spend the extra cash on the pakeged cleaned veggies, imitation crab meat, organic rice crackers, yogart, whole wheat bread, dried fruit, nuts, make yoruself super healthy muffins... becuase I know ill never eat healthy if it means I have to clean/cut/cook ect when I could just buy chips at the corner store. Also if your living on your own make enough for 2-3 ppl and store the left overs for lunch or dinner the next night. Im willing to pay the little extra for the organic soups in the box's... ready in seconds and soo good. * For me a cleansing diet was easy after the first few days. Make it into a game and have fun resurching and trying foods that are super good for you. Again it helps to reduce any craving to just say NO to everything your not allowed. Understand youll run into work partys with cake, really fun crazy nights at the bar, or have no time too cook... be ready to say No and find a healthyer salution.
