good luck man. i remember thinking those same things. 8 months later i was ready to rip my hair out. i hope you can do it man, cause its easy money if you can. i found that is administration and red tape that make that job unbareable.
but hey either way its some easy money, and ill know pritty quick if thats the kind of job for you. you will have to get used to hearing "say what again"... |

coming from years of hard manual labour like construction, landscaping, and baby-chucking, I think it'll be a piece of cake. I'm extremely tolerant and it's hard to annoy me. I'm just looking forward to having a job where I'm not expected to be sweating at the end of the day. Unless, of course, I invent EXTREME Stream-ing. Full-contact tech support!

it is something that started fairly recently... personally, I've worked there twice (I know, I'm crazy) about 8 months both times... and it really is good money (I just got my t4 from there and I could NOT believe how much I made there :S) but, like everyone else said... it sucks... the americans on the phone, the administration, the rules... and the telemarketing that they have just added... BUT apparently selling is not for the printer contracts - so, if you get into that, it's a lot better... The only really good thing is that you can meet a LOT of really cool people there... (and a lot of creeps, but meh). I would call it a good place to make a lot of money but not a career move! (believe me, I would know, my entire family worked there... at the same time... haha...) edit: Oh, and I forgot, if you move to chilliwack - you can go shroom picking all the time :D lol, yay! |

Don't be so stoked on the job mang lol Stream is brutal. Ive worked manual labour and Stream.. and Id take the labour any day. You have to troubleshoot ppl's shitty printers and software and a lot of the time they don't know how to fuckin use a computer half decent and you have to walk them through like a baby and ppl bitch at you all the time. I left after 3 months.
I just got hired for training at West today though haha ..its like the same deal, cept not so technical and frustrating.. takin orders for pharmaceutical drugs n shit. |

I've been working there since the site open... There are some things you need to know... Average life of a call center is 5 years.... this june/july it will make 5 years. You need to also understand that everyone is in constant rotation.... I've have had about 10 different supervisors and trust me they are not all on the same page..... And yes you are required to do sales now. Your seniority is based under your performance now and not by date of hire. So that means survey's by the customer... sales... being on work on time.... all effects it...
And if your sick... even if you bring in a doctors note you will get a point plain and simple.... Infact someone had a heart attack about a year and a half ago and was on his last point.... well after that heart attack he came back to work about a week later... had a doctors notes and such... and guess what happened.... they fired him.... So unless you have a high tolerance of stress at this point and are up for the challenge then go for it... Other then that you might as well look elsewhere.... And Miss T . Times have change BIG time when you quit... Its not the place it used to be |

well my pre-screening interview went as well as it could have. All you really have to do is say "yes" when you shouldn't say no and vice versa. Easy. But a whole month of orientation? Could it get any easier? I think I'll do fine. I can handle stress well. Once I walk out those doors at the end of the day/night, I leave my stress in my cubicle.
Any other words of advice? What's the dress code like? How compatible is their break system for smokers? etc, etc, yada yada? edit: and I hope that guy who had the heart attack sues. Seriously illegal! |

for smokers, you get 2 breaks... and personals... not sure how much they have cracked down, but you used to be able to take personals and go out for smokes all the time... but they are much stricter now... or, as my friends used to do, put ppl on hold and go have a smoke... haha... dress code is super lax (though they SAY no tshirts, hoodies, skate shoes, etc... i wore them all the time... i wouldn't for the first day maybe, but after that meh... it depends a lot on your ts tho) |
