Injuries to NHL Players in the Olympics: Naslund not going to play for Sweden Agree?
I think that was a very hard but smart decision by our Captain of the Canucks.
He knows the Canucks have a good chance of getting the Northwest Division title again, and he knows they are gonna make the playoff's. So he chose to stay and rest up during the olympic break instead of furthur hampering his groin and hip flexor. I think more than anything he did it cause he is the Captain of the Canucks. If he was just an assistant or just a player with no captaincy he prob would have gone. I think its a very commendable thing to do. Also so many injuries happening in the olympic mens hockey. Do you think they should shorten the season to about 72 or 70 games in the NHL during a season with the Olympic Break happening. It would leave room for a week before the Olympic Hockey Games begin, so players can get rest from the NHL before playing a game, and they wouldn't have to rush back to the NHL and furthur risk injury. Hasek > injured Ohlund > injured Salo > injured Forsberg > if he plays more will be injured just to name a few. Not to mention these players are on team that will make the playoff's and fight for the right to raise Lord Stanley's Cup |
