I would rather have 1 gold with mens hockey and 0-0-0 for the rest of the sports vs. 40 medals without hockey gold

Well thats just stupid. I mean god, we had an old team, not the smartest choices id say. And hopefully we can improve for the next olympics.

Props to the women over at the olympics though, they are just raking in the medals!

Its because we had loser face Pat Quinn coaching..

his ugliness worked as a disease and weakened all the players

Wow to signify that a team of players worht $97 million can win one gold in hockey and the rest of canada's atheletes can win a thing.

They didn't deserve to win, they didn't.

I'll take 24 medals over 1 hockey one.

I wouldn't take 24 medals over one vancouver canuck stanley cup though because we've never won it before.

Also there are no other medals to be won when the Stanley Cup Playoff's are on, unlike the olmypics where believe it or not there are other events

So what happened in 2002. The players were immune to his disease.

It was the whole team from the executive's like tambellini and gretzky all the way to the players MINUS BRODEUR!!

Seriously $97 million dollar team.

Too many old money hungry players who did absolutely nothing, rob black, adam foot, mccabe was one of the worst, and pronger too.

Not to mention our 5 million a forward(s) who couldn't score dick all.

Teams like Finland, Sweden and similar teams play with all they got cause they got to earn respect and their players play with passion.

We used to but this year it looked like the team was half assing it saving themselves for the rest of the NHL season.

We should have had younger players who aren't making the $$$ yet. People that would play game in game out, and also not risk real injury cause they are still young.

I was just kidding incase you guys didn't notice the sarcasm , I was pokin fun @ what hot karl said ..

I think its awesome we are 3rd in medals ..

you're right though, Team Canada was full of overpriced all stars that didn't put half the effort of russia/fins etc

pretty sad/pathetic. I blame it mostly on coaching though, if your lines aren't clicking and theres no chemistry.. then keep switchin them up until you find some chemistry. coachin is like a chess match , pat quinn was doin dick all IMO .

It's neat, I kind of feel a little bit proud.

and holy, Canadian women are fucking CLEANING up at these games!

...I don't really remember another olympics where we did so well!

ps- sometimes you can have the best team + coaching and still lose

we are doing really well this year, i'm hoping that our teams can even step it up to the next level for 2010. The fact that we are doing so well now should be an indication of our growing olympic power.

Projected medals for the 2006 Winter Olympics for us were 25.

We were just one shy. Canada has come a long way in the winter games.

At first it looked like it was gonna be another disappointing games but that turned around in a hurry.

I think of it like this.

The best team doesn't win. The team that wins is the best.
