Remember This Guy?
http://www.grantstetski.com
He is huge in Asia now. You can download all his newer CDs very quickly. His new breaks CDs should be released later this week as well. Strange how DJs from BC get huge when they move away from BC. |

The Banner
C-Squared mentioned the two story banner. It's true but it wasn't from a canceled Taiwanese gig. He was headling a huge outdoor massive for Manila Nightlife Magazine in the Phillipines. The flyer for the show was a press shot of Grant. He was the flyer. There were huge billboards of it everywhere and the one in question was the back drop of the stage. The show ended up getting hit by the tail end of a typhoon and he only played for about a half hour. The promoters felt really guilty for him not getting to play. But Grant being Grant just said, "No worries. It's not like it's your fault. Can I have that poster though?" They agreed right away and climbed up and cut it down.
Three days later, I hear him come home. He walks into my room with a shit eating grin on his face saying, "I gotta show you something." Takes me to his room and I swear I have never seen such a big party flyer. It is the mother of all party flyers. He unrolled three quarters of it and it took up his whole bedroom. So then we hung it off the third story balcony one day because some of our friends were coming over that didn't know about it. He took it home to Vancouver last summer because it was taking up too much room in the house. You can see it in the background of some of the Manila photos in his gallery. It's behind him on stage. |

Yea, he was Shockwave and then Vengeance. He disappeared from the scene in Vancouver for a year to help his mom battle cancer. He ended up practicing scratching 8 hours a day and can now give most turntablists a run for their money.
Plus, his mic'd conga sets are dope. His skills are just insane now. I have had two headliners at Fusion ask why the hell we are bringing in headliners when we have residents like him. One well known Seattle DJ that we had headlining, (whose name I won't mention) said he was scared to even follow Grant's set. Now that he is playing breaks, funky house and speed garage- I am in heaven. I have heard all the tracks he has set for the new breaks CD, plus the accapellas he is mixing over them. It's called Bonzai Breaks and it is going to be huge. I'll do another post on here when it is ready to download. We added a new video today too. The fucker just landed a huge sponsorship deal with a hip hop clothing company today, too. They will be featuring him in their monthly clothing ads in all the Taiwanese magazines. He worked his ass off and dealt with a lot of shit in Vancouver. It's nice to see him finally getting recognition for his talent. |

His two mix cd's he did of NuNrg were fucking sick. I remember the first one had 'Bass Drop' on it and he fucking cut that shit like nobodies business!! If it wasn't trashed I'd STILL listen to that CD.
I remember Grant destroying the dance floor at Ravers of the Lost Ark too.... the whole building went nuts. Everytime I saw him was a good time. Only thing I can say negative about Grant is DON'T EVER GET IN A CAR WITH THAT CRAZY MOTHERFUCKER!!! One time and one time only.... drove like a maniac!
