If you use a Router/Switch just change the last digit by 1 (eg. if its E make it F) of your routers WAN MAC Address. Usually can be done with a MAC Address clone, I know Linksys routers can do this

if youre not using a router, go into your network connection properties and hit repair. if that doesnt do it, unplugging the modem for a couple minutes often will.

wow. amateur night tonight on fnk.

go talk to your isp. find out how they assign ip addresses. if they assign based on MAC addresses, and you need to register your MAC address, you'll need to a) change your MAC and b) register the new MAC with your isp.

if you don't need to register, you can just change your MAC address.

some isp's just randomly hand them out, in which case a release/renew as per nabs' instructions is what you want.

some isp's are hella bitchy and weird and will only hand out a single ip address to your account. don't ask me why, but they do do this.

ultimately, i would just talk to the isp and be like 'i just want to change my ip address' and they'd probably just change up the dhcp server (the computer that gives you the ip address) to give you a different one. but talk to the isp first and find out how they set up the addresses, because it varies depending on who you use.

Go to a website that displays your IP adr for you, then unplug both your router & cable modem for a minute, maybe reboot PC, & check IP adr again, IP adr will probably have changed.

Is your ip Static or Dynamic. If your ip is static then you cannot change your ip address. Otherwise your ip address is dynamic, you can change your ip address following the procedures:
Simply turn off or unplug your modem for about five minutes. (You don't have to turn your computer off.)
If that doesn't work, try unplugging your modem overnight and checking your IP address the next morning.

After that you can check your ip address change or not using the site IP-Details.com. Here it display Internet service provider, IP address, location, Longitude, latitude and so on...
