Finding A Guitar Pick!? Help!!

Man, so i found out the other day that my sponsor is moving, and im freaked. But thats my selfish side. My proud, caring side, is hella happy for em, and i wanted to get a sweet going away present, and one that speaks my love, friendship and appreciation.

Hes an incredible musician, from everything from the production end of things to killn it on the guitar.

So im looking for a really nice guitar pick, made out of a cool metal that i can engrave. Im really poor ass, but i want to find one as nice as i can get, without having to sell my ass.

Any suggestions??

thx

I don't play gwuitar.. but I have been in many a music shop in my day and have never seen a actual metal pick... metal finger bars and finger picks yes, but not a strumming pick... maybe they exist but I think you're going to have a tough time finding something like that - but maybe I just never looked hard enough, who knows.

didnt you say you went to the carr? maybe i miss-read somewhere... anyways either way if you do or dont, you have connections right? go to one of the sculpture students and ask them to make one for you, and in turn trade some skill with them or you could pay them - art students usually work for pretty cheap. even if they just give you the raw shape, spend some hours sandin it up shiney yourself and presto! and hand-made metal guitar pick. the school should also have the tools for engraving - or you can go and get it engraved.
its an idea - slightly time consuming\a week at most, but its an idea.

I can almost guarantee metal picks do not exist, simply because the sound of metal on metal would be amplified by the pickups. You'd get a wierd clanging sound, so practical use would be out of the question. I suppose the pick could create a unique sound, depending on his style. Decorative use, however, would be pretty nifty. A necklace perhaps? Your best bet is to stop by a workshop and get them to cut you a pick-shaped piece of metal and grind/polish it. They probably wouldn't even charge you for it, or very little at most. OR, I'd borrow a dremel and make your own. They're the most useful tools on the planet. You can even engrave with a dremel! Good luck

Yeah i agree with tiedye, in all the guitar shops i have never seen a metal pick, because once again tiedye is right the sound will amplify. Maybe you can go to a metal work shop and go and just get it custom made im pretty sure it would'nt cost a whole lot maybe just steal someone's hub cap and get them to melt it down haha.
