The Canucks 1st Line Woes
As Of April 2, 2006

haha time to bring in Mike Keenan...I don't think we are that desperate...but close.
It seems like the first line just doesn't care...I watched the Minnesota game the other night and everytime Bertuzzi touched the puck he was trying to be a fancy assflute. Why doesn't he just take the puck to the net like he did in the previous seasons..? I think Naslund is wanting to be with his family overseas and not playing hockey and Morrison just sucks a lemon this year. It looks like he's the only trying..but WAY TO HARD and either coughs up the puck or get's outsmarted. We need a goalie. I don't know how much more obvious the management needs things to be. Cloutier has never been a solid goalie. He's damaged goods from the first time he messed up his knee...He needs to be put on waivers...maybe somebody will take him for a 3rd rounder and futures or something...I wouldn't give anything more than that... I think they should through carter with morrison and naslund...it seems that the superstars need a grinder type with some fire in him to get them going...I really miss Trent Klatt:( Offseason.. 1) Get a Goalie 2) Trade Bertuzzi for some young talent or a proven first liner |

^ trent klatt. So do I, and we had the chance of signing Mike Keane to a one year bottomline contract. He might not be tyhe most skilled player anymore with his age but fuck his leadership is valueable. I bet he would be putting up a little better numbers than linden anyways.
to answer your question 2. How do you sell damaged goods not worth its weight anymore. Think a very nice mercedes, hasn't been taking care of much, engine is running like crap now, runs slow and just doesn't seem like its working anymore. You think anyone is gonna want it. Now say bertuzzi was the nice car, who is obviously not working or trying to. You think a team is gonna give up a proven first liner. You be lucky to ge a second liner rite now. in 2002 we could have gotten a niedermayer or a thorton. |

p.s: damn i'm glad I didn't go to the bar to watch this anaheim game.
I think morrison and bertuzzi have to go but I think with the right linemates to motivate him Naslund can get going again just like teemu selanne. At the beginning Naslund was really going hard trying, but halfway through the season I guess watching bertuzzi and morrison slump just made him lose his heart |

wow canucks sucked today.
The canucks need to get rid of morrison / bertuzzi / cloutier. Im sorry, I don't give a fuck how many assists Morrison has, anybody could get lots of assists on that line .. he sucks. Yeah he has hustle and everything but he doesn't see the ice very well and he panics when he's in a goal scoring position. He has no goal finishing talent at all. Build a team around a better goalie and the sedin line .. Its unfortunate though, throughout last season it looked like we were finally building an elite team .. now the core ain't cuttin it anymore and we gunna have to rebuild.. fuck! |

^ yep that line has been said so much this year.
You can see it when he really moves and uses his power. The defenders gets beat and has to grab him, but its about once every 2 weeks he actually does this. Morisson just flopped all season long. Goodflow your rite any center men is gonna get assists playing with bertuzzi and more than that playing with naslund. If naslunds linemates were taking more shots, it could leads to more rebounds and chances for Naslund to score. back to scoreboard watching tomarrow |

^ same with burrows. We need some of our star players to play like that.
Thats what the west coast express used to be like. They had hustle along with first line skill. I think your right about Naslund. I think he gave up halfway through the season. He wasn't doing bad for the first half |

You know what I think is the single biggest thing besides all thats been said. Brian Burke getting basically fired and Anaheim snagging him. Brian Burke built most of the team that was considered elite tell yep last year than we get rid of burke. We barely do anything during the trade deadline. Carney isn't bad, but weinrich is all over the place. Nonis isn't getting respected around the league by other GM's. Nor is he getting the respect I believe Burke was getting from the players. I think even one reason Crawford is coaching badly a little has to do with the whole John McCaw and Burke incidents. That was one the dumbest thing. Notice how anaheim is doing grand with just a few good players, 2 superstar players and a decent but not elite goalie. |

In the minnesota game not one goal in the shootout, auld only lets in one and we lose the game. tonight first shot on the net is a clear cut breakaway. Seriously i knew they would hurt missing sami salo and jovo but its more the defensive errors than the offensive part of the game. actually scratch that its both. |

but we also got guys like Nassy, Bert.. for nothing at the time. nothin you can really do, but I sure as hell would like Burke back. |

Yea blame John Mccaw. He never got along with Burke. Such a stupid thing to get rid of Burke.
Even though they call it something we all know they fired Burke. Sorry I know its Nonis's first year doing this but man he isn't doing too well in my eyes so far. nazzy was a steal. i'm pretty sure it was Pat Quinn who got him for Stojanov actually. I think Pat Quinn was still doing the GM and Coaching jobs togetjher. |

1991-Mar-05 Cliff Ronning traded from St. Louis Blues with Geoff Courtnall, Robert Dirk, and Sergio Momesso to Vancouver Canucks for Garth Butcher and Dan Quinn How important were Cliff Ronning and Geoff Courtnall to the Canucks in 1994? Momesso put up some numbers too. And I, for one, think we let the Moose and that ungrateful bitch Esa Tikkanen stay here too long (even though it was only for a few seasons). All in all, I think the Canucks do pretty well for themselves. We could be Washington. |
