I know that after school you can do internships there. That is what he did and he got a job there out of it. |

These things always change, what I wanted 2 years ago is a starkly different from today, so I'm going to refrain from stating my primary dream job.
Primary dream job: still debating. My current dream job is as an art instructor for children, especially children under special circumstances, perhaps underpriviliged or those with special needs. This one may actually come true this summer, as I may have the opportunity to volunteer as an instructor for youth at a correctional facility in burnaby. I really want this specific volunteer job, but it's really schedule, circumstance and luck permitting. In the meantime, I'm looking for more volunteer opportunities to inspire children through art, exactly the way many of my former teachers have inspired me. My future dream job is as a children's book author and illustrator. It's not exactly a dream that I expect to materialize without doubt, but I've always had a keen interest for children's books, literature and cartoons, especially those targeted to ages 10 and under. I still watch children's cartoons, and I can appreciate a good children's book when I see one. If anything I'll just make books for my own children or nieces if I ever have any, just for their own entertainment and I'll be happy enough with that. |

haha I never said anything about being GOOD with kids and having a lot of experience with them. But the reason why I want to work with kids as an art instructor is because I look back on my own youth and all the great art teachers I've had and how they helped me find meaning in art during those teenage years when almost everything seemed meaningless. I just feel like there is so much potential in making a difference through creative means and connecting with people through art. As for wanting to write children's books, it has little to do with a maternal nature in me and more to do with the fact that in many ways I'm a child myself and when I read what's out there for kids nowadays (Wally the farting doG!?) it almost makes me want to bring message and meaning back into children's books, the way robert munsch did for example. I was just thinking that it would be so amazing to create something that has such influence on one's childhood that after that child has grown up and they have their own kids, they will go to a bookstore and pick up that same book to read and share with their own children. That sort of thing ;) But hey, it's just a dream for now. |
