it's more of a general thought, happens all the time. sometimes you'll have a few conversations with someone and you think that they are alright or you don't think much at all, and then they come on here and you discover that they are really "out there" or complete assholes or full of themselves w/out a reason or rascist ect ect

It doesn't really dissapoint me, because i'm not expecting much in the first place. It's just interesting how quickly you can figuer out what someone is like from what they write, over what they might say in person. It's fast track weeding.

isn't everyone a 'poser' to some extent. i mean, we all try to hide certain parts of our personalities that we don't think people will like, or certain thoughts that aren't really socially acceptable. i would find it difficult to believe there was someone in the world that didn't practice some form of restraint a some point.

At the other end I see people being really pretentious and "cool" on the internet but when it comes down to actually talking to these people in person they're straight up awkward. What do you judge a person by? Their fake rave pesonality or their fake internet personality? I also see alot of boneheads post here but when I meet them in person they're actually nice people.

hmmm, you know what?? i totally agree with this too. not to mention the discussions on the board create arguments and misjudgements that may not necessarily get so heated in person. sometimes i say really stupid shit. as do most people on this board.

I hope people would be more willing to judge my character by who I am in person and the time they have spent talking with me in person rather then how they view my persona online (re: FnK).
I find that alot of people are just different online. I can type/talk alot different then I do in person. As well as jokes I find are different when you post as opposed to when you talk!
I guess it depends on how you view things though!

it's easy for people to pretend they're something they're not when they're hiding behind the internet.
but then it allows some people to show their true idiot colors because that bravery reveals just how primal their thought process really is.

I have found that to go the opposite way a few times. I will talk to someone on fnk and "get to know them".. then i will meet them in person and they are nothing like the person they are online.
