^ I agree. However the downside to this would be that by the time the child is old enogh to fully comprehend the implications of living with a birth defect, he may already be alienated socially. Lets face it, kids are capable of being pretty damn mean to those that are different. Unfortunatly not everyon can be as understanding as (most of) the people that post on this board.
