I saw the funniest emo today
I was working at the ol lamplighter, having a smokeratte.
This emo comes in demanding to get in, this guy had "marilyn manson im going to kill myself unless someone gives me attention" written all over him Unfortunetly, he did not have any ID so i didnt let him in... I honestly thought he was going to cry.. or pull out a 9 and bust a cap in his head. (that'd be funny!) |

hehe, the emo tag was lame 12 years ago and still is today. The only difference is that peoples perception of the word has far more to do with a "look" whereas back then it had far more to do with the actauly style of punk you where diggn on, and the way one carried themselves.
Im thinking these days that emo is used for anyone and everyone who chooses to dress a specific way, which could be described as stereotypical punkish? Which in itself is somewhat ironic. Most kids that i see completely done out a la the hair, the clothing, etc etc, are usually young so it sort of comes with the territory, which usually translates into someone trying to figure out themselves insides and out - which is a natural process which all of us have gone through. At the end of the day what is more lame? People dressing a specific way because it feels good/they want to celebrate a specifc culture that is important to them, or the person who has nothing better to do than critisize? Ive seen a lot of cats photos on this board, and I'd say we all suffer from our bad "style" days. Id say that since clubs and bars all rely on reputation in some way, shape of form, a bouncer or a door guy coming on a public chatroom dogging on a potential costumer because the way they look, is pretty ignorant and childish. If the person in question was a jackass, then comment on that, what the hell does the person wearing have anything to with...well anything? |
