I hate the radio because..

1. Over compressed sound! compare any song: CD to radio.. they mixed some areas to be quieter for a reason. I know there is also a reason for this, but it sounds like shit.

2. Songs repeated on a very regular basis

3. Some dj's are elitest assholes

I think my biggest beef about the radio is the repeating of one track...Today on 94.5 in a matter of 30 minuites I heard "Ridin' Dirty" - by Chamillionaire 3 times...So averaging every 10 minuites...WTF please stop before that song becomes crap too.!

When i listen to the radio i usually only listen to rock 101 or 92.9 classic rock.
Most the other stations play hurting ass shit.

z95 is the worst for that. it sounds like SHIT.

i fuckin hate the radio.. all i use it for is to get me up in the morning. and it doesnt even do a good job.

I just use the radio for CBC 1 (the talk channel, brain food). Save the music for CD/iPod or other sources that sound good.

Satellite TV also has worse & worse sound, they're trying to squeeze in more channels so they compress the hell outa the sound and video. Except the pay channels of course.

yse the stations play the same songs over and over again, but you've got a crapload of stations to jump around with. quality is better than fm....don't like a dj? switch over to the next station which is basically the same content with a different dj lol.

On the most part I find I tend not to listen to the radio very often. Vancouver stations are hella weak.

91.3 - The Zone... it's like if The Fox suddenly hired good djs....
107.7 - The End... I remember when I was getting in the car leaving Bellvue earlier this year and I put the keys in the car, radio comes on and Sublime comes on, I say "I'm gonna miss good music on the radio" cow-orker: "That's all you're going to miss?" me: "Of course not. Oh. wait. Isn't that what I graduated from college from? I have a diploma in broadcasting (radio) however I barely ever listen to the radio myself. I used to enjoy it when xfm was around...I remember the day they went christmas.

91.3 the zone would be my favorite station around if I could listen to it in my car. However when you have friends working in radio you hear things about the internal workings of the station and that tends to over shadow what you think about the station.

When I'm down in LA, the DJ's on the radio there are dope. The Hip Hop they play is stuff I've not heard. A really good mix too of old skool, funk, some new shit and mixed extremely well.

In A is like top hits of the week/month they get played 1-2 an hour

B folder is hits from the past weeks or month average at least once an hour

C is older hits averaged once every 1-2 hours

D is random songs you may only hear once or twice a week sometimes even a month.

I think thats what is at least... i hated that school by the time i was done, but i agree, one of the best out there is the zone. its shitty i dont get great reception in Pitt here

Not to mention the canadian content rules. You took the cource so im sure you are fermilliar with them.

the CRTC says that 35% of all songs played must be candian content. So when a song that is ruled candian content comes through as a hit they play it to death to get their 35% for the day easier. Without sacrificing "quality."

A song is ruled canadian content if 2 of the following were candian elements:

Music
Artist
Production
Lyrics

Rumor has it soon the regulation wil lbe upped to 40%. Some folk are arguing for it to be as high as 60%.
