The suburbs are a trap. They are inviting at first until you realize there is no escape. You are trapped to a 15 block area. Confining invisible walls prevent you from driving any further.
You know what it takes for me to get to just the MLC? A lot buddy a lot. Like a bus. OMG not a bus. Or a taxi!? Or drive there? No Wai! And then you will turn emo and think you died in your own pool of blood. Eat the heart of a cow. Its all bad news. |

Been going through the far reaches of suburbia, lately, for work. (Van-Cloverdale/Surrey/WhiteRock).
I cringe. I can't do justice enough to any description as to how much I _HATE_ suburbia, having been traumatized by it, growing up! No one could _PAY_ me enough to live in that kind of place, ever again! Oh, and it's not "Suburbia", it's "Disturbia". Frosty (Downtown-guy) |

Suburbia: Where they cut down all the trees and name streets after them.
Suburbia: Where people watch far too much tv. Suburbia: Where there is no "community", because everyone has to drive everywhere and never stops to actually talk to people. Suburbia: Where people don't "live", they simply "exist". Suburbia: Where everyone leaves the same area, at the same time, to sit in crawling traffic, to go to the same area, at the same time, but all must be in single-occupant vehicles. Suburbia: Where advertising-fuelled over-consumption is conveniently a short drive away to a mall, where thought and choice are frowned upon, but "As Seen On TV" items are readily available. Suburbia: Where chain restaurants w/ narrowed, cookie-cutter selections encourage obesity. Suburbia: Where stress is the status-quo and pills are mass-prescribed. Frosty (not missing it) |
