Luongo For Bert
HOLY FUCK
kinda in shock www.sportsnet.ca Sportsnet.ca -- Florida Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo has been traded to the Vancouver Canucks in a package that includes Todd Bertuzzi. Sportsnet has learned the Canucks are getting Luongo, defenceman Lukas Krajicek and a sixth-round draft in exchange for Bertuzzi, defenceman Bryan Allen and goaltender Alex Auld. |

i had high hopes for allen, but he kinda regressed this year.
cloutier is obviously bait at this point, i'm sure someone will roll the dice, or worst case scenario, just send him down and call him up. someone will take him for 1.25mill not to mention there's no guarantee that luongo is staying past another year. oh you kwazy canucks. well cloutier haters, today you should bask in it, because he's done. never going to play another game in a nucks uni. |

overall i like the deal, bert needed to go and get a fresh start and in return we got a top 5 goalie. On the downside for me atleast is we lost Allen for some defence man we dont know too much about. Maybe he will turn out good later maybe not but I always liked Allen. I think hes gonna improve and definately has potential to be pretty crazy but oh wells

apparently luongo wanted a no trade clause, something that can't be granted to a player 1 year away from UFA status. so that was the problem with him stalling on signing long term with florida. but seeing as how he's just been traded to a team that has no intentions of moving him these next 5 years, i don't see how this will be a problem. and he's gonna come off as a real punk if he doesn't sign long term. that being said, FOR ONCE the canucks got the best player available at his position in a trade. that alone will should garner props for nonis. datsyuk and frolov were some names being shopped for luongo. and both of those forwards are way less risky then taking on bertuzzi. so we lucked out imo. even if we lose luongo after a year, i really don't care. getting bert off our books was worth it. |

wwwwhhhooooaaa..
I was just talking about this trade a couple of days ago and then poof! it happens. funny I learn about it on fnk before sportsnet. I think it's good, kinda sucks to loose auld, and allen, but i think if anybody, I would have gone for luongo too. craaazy shit. i'm happy clouts is done too, hopefully we can get someone good in trade. face it. goalies win stanley cups, and luongo has a waaay better chance of doing that than clouts or auld.. but wow. |

wow
at least bert isn't playing for a western conference team we better sign luongo, thats all i can say and we will be getting rid of clout. apparently the leafs want him lol its a crazy move and as much i love bert we have a franchise goalie, you give whatever you have to, to get one now we just need to find some fool that is willing to take morrisons 3.5 million, that was such a good signing lol |

^^
no kidding. sure the cap has been raised but look at what we have to sign? sedins will get a raise along with carter if he stays, luongo will cost a bit as well. Along with some of the other players we have to sign we might not be able to really afford Jovo cause he will cost quite a bit. Meh we'll see how it pans out. |

I don't think they'd even get 2 sticks.. maybe if they were no name brand. Yes we should also trade Jovo cop, he's very good and one of the fastest on the ice, but he makes hella risky plays and I just don't think hes worth that massive price tag. Personally I'm stoked to see what Luongo can do with Van. Van has a really fast/talented team and when they get a hot goalie they start rippin it. Auld just didn't cut it, he has good fundamentals but his reflexes aren't good enough yet.. Cloutier is better I don't care what anyone says. Who cares if Luongo hasn't really proved himself in the playoffs, he didn't really have much of a chance to do anything with florida !! |
