Messed up Cloud Formations in Iowa

lord, can you imagine getting uber baked and when you walked outside you looked up and saw THAT?

Turns out what causes it is when there is a extreme temperature difference between different layers in the atmosphere so the two layers don't mix very well. When they're pushed by a high pressure system it forms weird waves and pockets as the different layers swirl into eachother

In summer it's so stinkin' hot and humid there, mid-continent.

Add a slice o' cold front and you've got yerself a WHOOOOOOOOOOOOLE mess o' tornadoes, yup yup!

I've seen similar Clouds over Central Vancouver Island. Altocumulus Mammatus I believe the ones I saw were called.

Maybe you should compare it to some pics HERE ...someone may have a full explaination if you ask around. Though if you ask me I would wager it's not a natural phenomenon, perhaps an angel playing a HARRP? Sure looks neat, I wonder how much it's fucking us up if it is.

That is really neat! I always find myself looking at the clouds...And to think that they get cloud formations that are so different then ours...very interesting!
