pcfinancial (superstore)
free everything. even if i take money out at a club, the only thing i pay is the 1.50 for that machine. i use interac for shit that costs less than a dollar. because i can. and they use cibc bank machines so that's a bonus. free chequing, and you get points for shit like automatic payments or direct deposit. when you get enough points you can use it for groceries at superstore. |

yeah it's the unlimited i would get it's 12.95 a month and if i can get it for free i might as well.. plus TD has a lot of fees for things and won't let me do certain things (like deposit my paycheck through the bank machine) and over the border transactions..

Im with TD Canada Trust.
I use the Infinity account which is 12.95$/per month but unlimited Interac uses which is the only thing I worry about since I use my debit card for the smallest transactions. I don't like to carry cash on me unless im going clubbing in which case id hit up the ATM before I go out. I also like TD because there are open Mon-Fri 8am-8pm and are open on Saturdays. |

Work for a bank and never pay a service fee! :P
I work for & bank with CIBC I also bank with ING DIRECT I used to bank with bmo but closed my account cause money was just sitting there and service charges were being withdrawn, but it was like $5 a month. But yeah I hear President's choice = no service charges.. and I believe it is a subsidiary of CIBC Last edited by yoko*; Jun 27, 06 at 10:31 PM. |

I bank with several banks - for different options.
My business account is at CIBC. It is a high yield interest account, and I only need one transaction per month. I can do several things under one transaction without out it counting as 12, even if I had made 12 transactions - did that make sense? ING - is my personal savings account. I don't touch it. It is also high yield. My personal account is through a small credit union that I got for being part of a union. Great in the event of a strike as they will stop payments for you and give gracious loans if needed even without income. I LOVE MY CREDIT UNION. I can make a deposits at ANY credit union. And as long as I am taking money out through a CRUN there is no charges to me. Since I have good credit, I can deposit any cheque without consequence and have it available to me. So I am fully automated and have no reason to see a teller. I have a line of credit through the Royal Bank. Which is like a bank account. Last edited by Avana; Jun 28, 06 at 12:11 AM. |

I have banked with two banks - previously to the ones I am with now.
The first was Royal Bank - I stopped banking with them at 12 cause they accused me of forging the $50 birthday cheque from my grandma. Second was the TD. I was unemployed a few years back, and had taken a roasting by my ex. I phoned the bank regarding this, and made arrangements for payment on my VISA through them. They didn't honor the arrangements we had made and just plucked the money from my account, in turn bouncing the other payments the money was there for. I promptly cancelled the account with them, paid off the visa and stopped using their services. |

The last thing about my credit union....
Since it is small, there are only a few branches. At my branch, all the associates know me by name, and when I phone I don't have to tell them my account number, cause they remember it. Because they are a small CRUN they have the personal touch, but as you can use your card at any CRUN - you still have the big bank convenience. And the only fees I get charged, are those from other banks if I happen to use their machines. But I only do when going to the bar, so it doesn't much matter anyway. |

I bank with Vancity and BMO.
Vancity, they're either really good or really bad, depending on which branch you go to. The ones at Metrotown they're quite friendly, and the one in North Burnaby they were even better. The ones in Vancouver not so much so. The Burnaby ones never held any cheques I wanted to put in. The Vancouver ones use the whole "this isn't your branch" bullshit to try put holds on my cheques. Some arguing later, and that usually doesn't happen. BMO has been great since I've been with them. The original deal with them is they'll hold cheques for the first 30 days, and then it's good from there, but they always took the holds off on my cheques right away. My fees are going to be basically zero now. I get like $7 off per month for being under 25, plus now $6/month for being a Gold BMO Mastercard holder (which costs $80/year, but I get 1 Air Mile for every $15 spent, and really only costs me $8 in the end). My plan is about $13 per month like 80 debits, 5 uses in non-BMO machines, a couple email money transfers, and a bunch of other stuff. |
