z0mg! OSX/x86 10.4.6 Supports AMD & Intel CPUs!
Holy crap, how did I miss this happening! The latest installer DVD for OSX/x86 (run Mac OSX on PC(x86) hardware) supports BOTH Intel & AMD CPUs so long as they have SSE2 and/or SSE3. This includes pretty much every new CPU AMD or Intel make (Yes, those filthy cheap Semperons are on the list!)
This is bloody sweet, I'm installing it right now. |

yeah I saw this on digg a week ago or so, it sounds pretty cool but I'm still going to buy a 17" macbook pro because it's pimp :)
I don't mind running windows on Apple hardware but running OS X on windows makes me sad for some reason. I want to see OS X running on the new Intel Woodcrest (Xeons) chips that were just released. |

that tutorial ain't the best, chiefly because it uses partition magic, which, in my experience with it, almost ALWAYS fucks up and eats your partition table. You don't necessarily HAVE to install OSX/x86 to your primary hard drive, I installed it to a partition on my second hard drive without issues. If you must put it on your first hard drive and you were silly enough to partition it as one big partition (or you didn't set it up) for the LOVE OF GOD back your shit up and/or have partition repair tools handy. Partition Magic may just decide to puke on you
