Has anyone checked out this place yet on Broadway? They've only been open for 5 weeks...
Went there last night...WOW! The place is pretty bumpin...Nice decor...The service was one of the best considering it's a average $$ ranged restraunt along the lines of Earls/Milestones/Cactus Club. The food wasn't to bad...You have to check out their "Cabana bar/lounge" upstairs that seats like 200-400 people...It's fuckin nice upstairs. Marbled table tops etc etc PLUS to top it off...The waitresses there were pretty damn FINE! =P |

Yeah the Patio was fuckin nice! We were looking to wanting to get that area for our grad but like a lot of places they don't take reservations on Fri/Sat :(
Having a party up there would be cool...Having a DJ set up by that water wall Quote:

I don't like the fact that you can't park in their parking lot unless you pay the valet guy 7 bux to move your car from the front door to the parking spot a couple feet away.
because of this, I will never go there, even though my friend works there. |

to tell you the truth i was a bit dissapointed.
i used to work at the joeys in coquitlum, and the service is 100% better. The decor at the broadway restaurant is waaay nicer though. I found that the service was mediocre...i mean in the sense that i thought the girls were REALLY fake, especially the hostesses. We were taught to be genially nice and chatty, not recite the same lines over and over again. this is what the hostess says to me and my dad as we walk to the table: "Are you guys going to get a chance to hit the beach later?" and then 5 seconds later, she says the same thing to some other 2 other groups she walks to their table! if they weren't so cheesy and fake they would be my fav restaurant cuz the food there is amazing! |

i went in there for lunch the other day as i had an appointment next door which had a lunch break at noon. I thought it was very nice. I've been a fan of Joey's for years and i've been to the old port coquitlam location, coq, calgary, kelowna, calgary and edmonton locations and i found the broadway restraunt to be the nicest by far. The bathrooms are crazy, two levels and each toilett has its own room with sink ect. I used to go to Joey's a lot when they had the pasta dish the michealangelo, but they scrapped that in an attepmt to move forward, if they brought it back i'd be there every week.
Can't argue with vallet parking, even when it's priced on the high side it's worth it to avoid the frustration of finding a parking space. |

My sis works there, so I went to check it out. Food was alright, nothing amazingly special by my standards. The decor was pretty nice though; didnt get a chance to check out the bar/lounge area, or the patio as it was still under construction. Overall I would give it a 7.5/ 10

and who said I entered the restaurant? I spoke with the valet guy who wouldn't let us park our car ourselves and left. |

Yeah man... Joey Tomatoes ... I was wondering when they would come into Van.
Lobster Ravioli, mmm just a very very good meal and the service was superb. Everyone from the Valet to the waitresses setting up our table to the male server accomodating us. I went to the Coqiutlam one a couple weeks ago and actually found the service there to be very rude but, it was just 1 experience and the food is still good hahaha Carrie, such a small thing to get bitter over. |
