Even soldiers who return from battle without physical injuries can be scarred by emotional damage. Caused by distressing events of war, post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, can bring flashbacks, depression, social problems, and other ailments to war vets. But there's hope: The Office of Naval Research has spent $4 million to test the effectiveness of virtual-reality therapy on soldiers. With the funding, the Institute for Creative Technologies has worked with others in the program to develop tools using artwork and design elements from the institute's video game and military training simulation, Full Spectrum Warrior.

I don't understand the exageration of the title and actual article. The US is throwing funding into a very real problem soldiers face coming out of military life. They work in buttfuck nowhere, get shot at, and put up with horrible conditions. They get the odd lay about to play some vids? Soldiers are real people too. All the more power to 'em.
