ok, so i've got a little bit of a problem
my buddy was fucking around on my girlfriend's laptop and now i can't see any of the icons on the screen. there isn't even a toolbar. does anybody know how i can get them to reveal themselves to me again?

scroll the mouse to the bottom of the screen, the task bar should pop up if its hidden.

if not... re-format.

I was kidding about reforamting...that's my solution to every n00bs cpu problems.

but you may have to check for the desktop hijack (as dubbs said) so to check for that... right click your desktop >> properties (if you dont have the usual options like screensaver etc,) do a virus scan.

desktop hijacks are a bitch, cause you WILL have to re-format IMO.

explorer is corrupt.
try using the windows key on the keyboard + E to check and see if that works.

Then ctrl + alt + del
File - New Task - and type in explorer and hit enter.

yup explorer isnt running, if neohs suggestion doesnt work see if it does in safe mode

start/run "msconfig" enter, under boot.ini select safeboot and network, restart

even when i right click on the screen it doesn't do anything. if i were to reformat it would everything be lost?
