Nice! I just transferred over to SFU. It completely forgot over here to register so it's difficult getting into the courses i need right now.

Right now i'm registered in Italian 100, Mandarin 100, and on the waiting list for Chinese culture/history and Modern Middle Eastern politics.

A lot of courses are broken up into 2 sections in college. One half is the lecture the other half is where you apply your knowledge. Usually they give the assignments in the lab and the lecture you just sit and ask questions or take in the knowledge. I find classes like this are great because if u have a tight schedule you can just prep and goto the half where you get marked and skip the lecture the previous day. I love taking languages now, i just wish i could remember it all haha. What are you planning on taking?

Not sure about 2 colleges at once. Is it because one college does not offer a certain course? You'll have to ask your registrar's office.

You can go to two schools at once, but you may not be able to transfer credits back and forth etc and apply them all towards one degree.

make sure you keep up with your work while doing the open learning.

are you taking the paced ones? the self paced ones is a disaster waiting to happen if you're not good at setting a solid personal schedule for yourself. my advice for you is to set your own deadlines and MAKE sure you keep up with them!

otherwise good luck! i personally wouldnt want to get my degree from an open learning school but you can always transfer those credits to university.

chaucer and milton are two of my faves.

the key is wrapping your head around the language, from there it's all gravy.

i would think you might need 1st year english (lit and university writing) or at least first year out of the way to be able to take that course.....

It's weird - when I was at UBC I pretty much hated school. I finished the BA last May, and as we come upon September here, I'm quite surprised to find that I am actually longing to be back in school!

AP english and english lit in highschool counts as first year credit, so I can take second year classes. :p
