Flashmobs in Vancouver?

My buddy has been doing these for years in Calgary... has anyone heard of them down here?

it is basically a mob suddenly appearing at a specified location stick around for a min or 2 then dissapear again.

here i was thinking that it was a mob of people that ran around flashing people.

For the most part, but the idea is you do something unusual. There was an episode of CSI:Miami where 50 kids all showed up at a specific green on a golf course and yelled something and threw golf balls at everyone.

They are pretty fun. I joined in one my buddy started a couple years ago. He put a post on a forum and 40 people showed up and set off fireworks in the parking lot of a shopping plaza.

The beauty of them is that there are so many of you, nobody will try to stop you (everyone's too confused to try to stop you anyways) and you all disperse so that they can't really follow you.

edit: I suppose that Zombie Walk could be considered a flashmob.. just with more planning.

There is a version of this they had a couple of years ago that is a bar invasion. All of a sudden a hundred ppl barge into a bar, have a drink, then leave.

Sometimes they would bring a DJ setup and speakers. I don't think that type was too common but it did happen a bit in the states, Portland for sure, they had a website & would post pics.
