I used to work at winners and they get all the cheap stuff no one wants from old stores and we used to get shit that still had the old stupid tags on it and we only had a certain type of remover thingy for ours so we would have to pry them off.
The sercirty garuds told us how to pry them off. You kinda have to pry it off. But not all at once. you gotta like wiggle it off first. till a couple of the theards come off. then bend it like back and forth to to that, it shouldn't wreck the shrit if u do it slowley. you can get siccors to pry it too. just be careful its not that hard... (i know i am a horrible speller lol) |

I think anyone who works in retail would be hesitant to help you out with that issue. It's probably also against their store policy to remove it for you. I remember getting customers who brought things from other stores with tags still attached who would ask me to remove the tag for them with our devices but I absolutely refused to. Who's to say that the person didn't steal, and it isn't my place to make that judgement or my place to remove tags that are property and responsibility of another store.
I would spare your retail friends the risk and either send it back or try to remove it yourself. If it's not a dye tag, it can likely be removed with a strong magnet but not many people are likely to have the magnetic device strong enough to remove it. I think hard tags generally can be removed safely in two ways. With a magnetic device or a detagging gun that sort of shoots a curved pin through the pinhole on the hard-tag which unlocks the tag. Exam the hard tag to see if it has a pinhole on the side. If there is, that's probably where a curved object would fit to unlock the tag. I'm not certain, but I think it might work. I also used to find a lot of hard tags with bent pins after shoplifters had stolen an item. So basically with a little bit of force I'm sure it's easily removeable with some kind of hand-tool. Just can't guarantee it won't damage your article of clothing Hopefully your item was tagged through the seam, which will make it easier to repair the item if it gets damaged. |
