fuck yeah.. I survived off my guitar when I lived in East Van. Support buskers.. they're more valuable to the scene than the musicians signed to major labels.

hey i like that. it's an honest living. don't get me wrong i sometimes give change to the homeless, but if there is a busker working their block. no dice.

Ill throw some change when people are doing something (and doing it well) downtown. I wont give anything to people who come up to me and ask me for it or are just sitting there.
I do go up to the ones who seem to shy/embarrassed to ask for anything, and Ill give them $5, $10, sometimes $20 if I can spare it.

I always give money to buskers.....a lot of them are really good cause they just play guitar (or whatever instrument they play) all day and get really good! $2 can go a long way.

People have a right to their opinions, but for the most part the opinions shared in this thread largely ignore any significant humanity, or fail to put anything into context.

One of the fallacies that seems to have bred in some of the minds of respective posters is that people who are impoverished are so, because they are lazy. Another is that giving somebody money is the end all or be all, or justification to then critisize.

As for the throwing water bit, the inescapable truth is that what goes around, comes around, and rest assured at the very least, a concerned person or two would reply to such a gesture with breaking your fucking nose, you sick fuck. The blood that would then gush forth, through your incessant crying would be ten times more funny than some homeless person/busker/pan handler getting wet.

I will only give money to people performing or with animals. I understand sometimes it is a ploy, but i also understand what it is like to have a pet, and hope that what i give them is used to provide for their animal.

I read a lot of ignorance on this board from people who just have no idea. spend more time using your other senses other than your fingers/mouth.
