Handhelds - PSP vs Nintendo DS
So... what's the good word? Which do you prefer / own?
The PSP: UMD Discs for movies and games. Wide screen full colored video screen. flash card memory sticks and wireless connectivity. The games have horrible loading times but amazing none-the-less. Everything is Expensive as hell. The games are like PS1 quality, but the entire console fits in your pocket. The DS (lite): 2 screens, one is touch sensitive. Amazingly innovative games. Wifi wireless connectivity with other DS's AND DS Download gameplay! (which means 1 person can share their game with other DS's that don't have the cartridge). The games are fun, but even more fun when there are more DS's around. Which do you prefer and why? I like the DS. I've had so much fun re-living super mario bros, the legend of zelda, and about 12 other games. I love waiting around with friends who also own ds's and just playing while others go about their business. I LOVE IT! I mean, this topic is endless! Do you prefer the Wii, PS3 or 360??? |

i have the ds lite and i love it. like you said, wicked cool games. mario kart is probably the most addictive thing ever. i love being able to lie in bed and race people around the world, or battles someone in another country in tetris (they always kick my ass).
i guess depends what you want it for. i just wanted it for games, so i didn't really need the movie/music side of the PSP. plus, like you said it's more expensive all around. |

DS all the way. I've always loved nintendo and have a weakness for Mario games. My gf bought a ds and i keep borrowing it for my long/ boring days at work. I really want to get her mario kart for her bday....mostly cuz i want to play it lol.

he's right, though. they all have wifi built into them. but only certain games use them (the ones that say wifi on the packages). if you have wireless internet then you can set it up.

I have both a DS and a few games, had a psp with 20 games, up until last week. Quite frankly, there aren't enough games on the PSP that are fun. When I use a handheld system I only play for 15 mins or so at a time. The PSP doesn't really lend itself to this. Of course, I still play neo geo pocket, so I doubt my opinion really matters. |
