Yeah there were people who were leaving when I went to see it. It did go on for a damn long time, but I thought it was a good movie. It was really long, but I think it was long for a reason and to prove a point. People definitely filed out of the movie theatres quickly afterwards.
I liked it and I liked the concepts about it and I thought the acting was good. There was lots to play with the brain and I totally called the book having something in it, though I was disappointed that they didn't go back to the Charles Dickens book and see if there was something in that one. Hopefully that doesn't spoil anything. I'd say overall a 9/10 |

At almost two hours and 50 minutes, The Good Shepherd is a long movie. But it requires its running time to properly show not only the creation and ascendance of the CIA, but the slow and subtle erosion of the values Wilson holds dear. Holding commitment to his country and belief in unassailable truth as his highest ideals, Wilson soon compromises everything he holds true in the process of trying to preserve it.
