Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Secrets *Review*

Okay, its 2:40am Friday morning, I am working in 6hrs. I got to watch an advance screening and here is my review. What can I say? This movie is a whopping 3hrs and 15min, this includes the previews. I recommoned you go to the bathroom before watching the movie.

I am not a die hard fan of the Potter movies or books. I have no intention of reading them, however I did watch the first one and it was quite entertaining. So i decided to watch the 2nd one. This second one is a lot darker. This movie should have a PG rating rather than a G rating. A lot of scenes that are could be quite terrifying for younger children.

The special effects are even better than the first one. The story line is very simple yet it kept be into the movie. The entire movie is almost a mystery. I do not want to spoil the movie so I'm not gonna say very much about it.

I will say this though, you don't really have to read the books to enjoy the movie. If you enjoyed the first one, then you'll enjoy this one. Even if you didn't watch the first one, but you enjoy fantasy type movies I recommoned this movie. The only drawback is the length of the movie. Dang its really long and I heard the movie for the 4th book will be even longer and could require 2 movies.

If you really must watch this movie this weekend, be at the theatre atleast 45min early cuz I guartnee there will be lineups.

~Tim

~i'm going to watch Harry Potter tonight!!~
i'm so excited! i agree with Tim here, you don't really have to read the book before you see the movie. I didn't and i saw the first one and it was interesting to me so thats why I'm going to watch the second one. But if you still havent seen the first movie before you watch the second, you might not understand the characters so its better of to see the first movie and then the second
darn Tim, i miss working at FP....only because i get to see the movies BEFORE they come out.

The special effects were great in the movie. Little things like when the flying car touched down on the dirt road were done superbly. It was definately an entertaining film, much darker than the original. Blood on the walls, etc. No real gripes... just the same I had before.. where it "felt" as if it was coming from a book... and not an entity itself. Each scene is roughly the same time frame, with no real difference in length or feeling from an unimportant scene to the end battle. IMHO of course.

Was it really more than 3hrs? I didn't notice. The previews lasted forever tho... and they all freakin' sucked. I am not going to see a kangaroo dancing to that "hip hop" song. You'll know it when you see it.

Good movie tho.

hmmm........watched it today. didn't really wait in line long as my friend (lucy) and i arrived at 11:00pm for the 11:20 screening. so we weren't bothered. although, we did get yelled at by a hardcore fan who thought we were budging in line for the 11pm screening, when we were only walking by to get to the ticket booth. hahaha.........very fanatical.

there was definitely more action in this harry potter. i also felt a weird 'dark' vibe from it. and i agree that this movie may not go over well for younger children.

*thumbs up* to the special effects.

i agree with this movie being darker than the first. if i had little kids, i would definitely not bring them to see this movie. there were alot more adults than children there
it was a very good movie though and i havent even read the books. never heard of Harry Potter till i went to see the first one and it was awesome so I enjoy it pretty much.
i had to wait in line for about an hour and everyone was bitchin cuz they had to wait outside in the cold and i saw some lady freak out cuz she had to go outside and she paid $8 for it and this shouldnt happen...quite funny actually
but anyways, the movie was great. special effects were really cool too. they all have grown up so much! and Ron's voice squeeks.
and the movie was 20 mins previews i remember and the movie just ended about 10:15 ish starting at 7:20. but it did get long and i got a little figity

I don't know how many times I jumped in my seat. This movie had a lot more humour in it than the first one, which I appreciated, and the characters were more developed which is good. I don't think there were any kids in the audience when juicE and I were there. Of course, it was 11:30 at night.

That woman who yelled at us was crazy. She needs hugs.

oooh!!..i loved the movie...the effects were much better in this one then the first one..i swear..i was the only idiot who kept screaming in the theatre at pop-upy parts~..but yeah..as lucy said..there was a lot more humour in this episode..expecially from ron..his facial expressions...i loved them!..and i did notice his squeaky voice...it's interesting to see how much they've grown from the last movie..and it was nice how everyone in the theatre applauded at the end..was weird..but nice..=)

ooh..i can't wait for the next movie...or the next book..=P

YOU MISSED THE THING AT THE END? ITS THE BEST PART OF THE WHOLE MOVIE!!!!!!

They left out so many little details in the movie, but obviously they had to or else it would be like 10 days long.
But I do have to say, that bastard Harry Potter is quite the entertaining one. I really liked this movie, better than the first one. I tell ya though, if I was a kid watching it, I'd be scarred for life. THE SPIDERS OMG AAAAAHHHHHHH.
My only problem with it is that I kept getting confused with the other books, waiting for certain things to happen, without realizing they weren't from that part of the story. oops!
Also, I wish they developed Fred and George's characters more.. they're my favorite and they'd made the movie so much funnier. They play a pretty big role in the third book so I'm looking forward to that movie :)

I'm going to ruin it.... :kam:

The little thing at the end is like 2 seconds long, and in my opinion, is not worth waiting twenty minutes for the credits to finish scrolling.
