I had a big writeup all complete, until I snagged the back button on my mouse. Good movie, slow at times. Worthy watch, downloadski perhaps. I did the theater thing and ..... meh. Big screen, big sound, big price is reserved for special effects now days.

movie of the year hands down. i couldn't take my eyes off the screen for the entire move. although it dragged on for the last 20-30 minutes, it was well worth it. tying up just enough loose strings, while leaving (again) just enough to your imagination.
all "villains" will now be compared to anton chigurh. |

pretentious piece of dog shit.
tommy lee sounded like he was smoking and drinking at the same time whenever he spoke. long fucking monologues that go nowhere like he was grandpa simpson. i only liked the silencer on the shot gun. two thumbs way down |

^ Good to know we're going to have plenty of new stupid to replace FRA when she gets bounced.
Seen No Country twice in theaters now, something I only do for a select few films (Pulp Fiction and Fight Club come to mind). I recommend seeing it in theaters at least once, for a couple of reasons: 1) The expanse of the country in which the film takes place is paramount to the tone and mood of the work itself. The characters' struggle with morality and justice is directly linked to those high plains, and the sense of being lost in that desert is paramount to emapthizing with their plight(s) 2) This movie builds some of the most palpable tension I've ever experienced from a film.. during a particular scene about midway through, I realized that despite the fact I was in a theater packed to capacity, I could've heard a pin drop on the other side of the room. That was cool :) Theater viewing is highly underrated IMO |

I've been raving about the cinematography and sound editing in the film since I saw it, especially the sound. The fact that the opening of a candy wrapper can break the silence and put an audience on the edge of their seats is phenomenal. Uses of absolute silence and minimal sound were used to ascend things to another level. This film hit you on so many levels. I haven't even mentioned the actual story itself, I'm still reeling in all the technical aspects of the film. |

do you have dramatic music playing along to your day to day life?...
no you dont. the choice for no music, along with the hyper sensitive and realistic location audio was brilliant and FORCED the film vewier's senses to focus on other things like say....oh...i dunno, acting and dramatic cinematography. |

Bart: so how do mesmerize jaded movie goers, grandpa?
Tommy Lee Jones: One way to get rid of them is to tell 'em stories that dont go anywhere. Like the time we went over to shelbyville during the war, I wore an onion on my belt....which was the style at the time...you couldnt get those white ones, you could only get those big yellow ones.................now where was I........oh yeah, the important thing was I was wearing an onion on my nelt, which was the style at the time, you couldnt get those... (trails off) |

simply acting for the sake of acting ain't a movie. there needs to be a story. there was none here. |
