Started watching them and then realized I hate speeches.
Still curious to know who wins though, esp since I told Jim I'd eat my shoe if Daniel Day Lewis doesn't win best actor. I won't even consider which shoe, or how it should be cooked, because I'm so certain that I won't be forced to make those decisions |

I think the shoe eating was probably the safest bet you've ever made.
DDL's performance in There Will Be Blood was so intense that there was no way he wasn't going to win. Both No Country and There Will Be Blood were amazing films, it really could have gone either way. It's too bad Rawb was up against Bardem for best supporting actor, because he put in a really great performance in The Assassination of Jesse James. I just finished watching Juno, and it was highly enjoyable. I think I'd even go as far as saying I'd watch it a second time. |

^Jim eventually decided it was retarded watching that crap, so, we watched a couple of movies, instead.
First was "Awake" w/ Van-Star Wars-dude...Hayden?.... What a horrible script! Then, watched one of the nominee's: "Juno". I'd heard it was shot here, and, it totally looks like Van. Excellent acting! The quirkiest dialogue in a script I've ever heard, since "Heathers"! (Soooo many left-turns into absurdity!) Frosty (goes to other sites to see who won) |

almost all of my predictions were right except for a few.....I kind of thought No Country would take cinematography....and I was surprised Transformers didn't take special effects
overall it was a good show and I think most of the winners were quite deserving.....its kind of a shame that No Country and There Will be Blood were out the same year cuz it probably could have gone either way....Paul Thomas Anderson got beat out of 3 oscars by the Coens, and probly not by many votes |

that movie peaked with the verbal tennis match. Better for stage than film I always thought.

Also liked the puppet show within a play within a movie based on a play reinterpreting another play... Also Tim Roth and Gary Oldman remain two of my fav actors of all time. |
