gta4 is, first and foremost, a single player experience though so i wasnt expecting much out of the mp modes but they actually exceed my expectations. havent played most of the modes but i have played cops and robbers, team deathmatch and free roamed a bit and surprisingly, i enjoyed all 3. im actually looking forward to trying the rest out when i get bored of campaigning and dont feel like playing cod4.

I'm working throught the single player campaign and i'm lovin every minute of it. Just did the flower shop mission.
the cars re-act so well, so different in a good way. I crashed into a cop with my taxi, he started chasing me. Took a few people out and wanted level went up, they started shooting my tires. Had to hop out and pick up a vette, it was way more different than driving the cab. I was spinning out everywhere, hard to control, so i hoped on a moped and took alley's to lose the cops Fantastic game! The only gripe i have is that the auto aim/free shoot should be reveresed, i'm trying only to learn the free shoot, i'd prefer to hold down the button to free shoot (right now if you hold down the button, it auto aims, half way, free shoot) |

GTA4 Freezing?
Forums aflame over GTAIV freezing - PlayStation 3 News at GameSpot Forums aflame over GTAIV freezing PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 players alike reporting crash problems with Rockstar Games' latest; publisher keeps quiet. By Brendan Sinclair, GameSpot Posted Apr 29, 2008 5:11 pm PT Last month, the launch of Rockstar Games' Bully on the Xbox 360 was marred by a bevy of crash bugs and other glitches. With this morning's heavily anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto IV for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Rockstar finds itself dealing with still more troubleshooting trouble, as online forums are buzzing with reports of crashes. Combing through crash threads on the Xbox.com forums, Sony's official message boards, GameSpot, and the NeoGAF forums, it seems that the issues are affecting PlayStation 3 users more frequently, although gamers with both systems are reporting problems. Reports of crashes on the 60GB version of the PS3 hardware are the most common, and tech support advice like deleting and re-installing the game doesn't appear to address the issue effectively. As of press time, Rockstar has not responded to requests for comment. A representative with Rockstar parent company Take-Two Interactive declined to comment on the issue. |

^ Jesus, why does everyone think that this is in such high demand. It's not sold out at most places. I called EB, who informed me that it's sold out everywhere, and it would be a while before it would be easy to get. I went to best buy, the clerk said they have over 200 copies right now, along with a stack of the special edition ones. |

Have you guys get a whole party on the bus in downtown Alagonquin, that's funny as hell. Riding the heli around with a passenger shooting is pretty sweet too. Explosions are pretty amazing. There's all kinds of crazy moves you can orchestrate in that game although online play is pissing me off. At least 3/5 times a party of 3+ get's dropped before we can join a game together. Hopefully a patch will be soon.

i've played quite a bit and havent had a single crash, and i've played online for a couple hours now with no issues at all. (360 version)
easter egg: go into party mode, go up on the roof of the spawn and jump in a heli with a passenger... fly to the statue of happiness and hover it on the platform directly below her feet. get your passenger to jump out and go into the building to see the easter egg. you can not get to this area from the ground, only from a heli. too lazy to try? youtube statue of happiness easter egg |

I like the fact that it makes you install the game for minimal load times.
so in that sense its better than the 360. but i hear that 360 will have dlc soon. in which that makes the difference, but we all know the psn will have the same content sometime soon. |
